Sdent Helios conquered Swiss Cup title for the second year in a row. They overcame Riva Basket for another trophy. Renee Taylor (158-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: Miami, FL) posted 17 points to lead the winners. Sdent Helios and Riva Basket stayed close throughout the opening quarter. Helios eked out a 16:14 lead after the opening quarter. Helios stretched the gap in the second frame. They established a comfortable 37:27 halftime lead. Sdent Helios played a near-perfect defence in the third term. They held Riva Basket to just 4 points in the quarter posting a 44:31 lead with ten minutes remaining. Riva Basket unleashed 23 points in the fourth term but Helios were ready and responded with 20 to seal the victory. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) and Jalinka Michaux (173-F-87) notched 11 points each for Helios. Shannon McCallum (177-G-87, college: Charlotte) netted 20 points for Riva Basket. Judit Jakab (178-F-89) finished with 9 points in the loss.
Lugano Tigers surprised Fribourg away from home to squeeze into the LNA Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Lugano Tigers. Fribourg managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-76, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 20 points and 5 assists. American forward Korvotney Barber (201-87, college: Auburn, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. American swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts.
