Sdent Helios - Riva Basket 64:54

Sdent Helios conquered Swiss Cup title for the second year in a row. They overcame Riva Basket for another trophy. Renee Taylor (158-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: Miami, FL) posted 17 points to lead the winners.
Sdent Helios and Riva Basket stayed close throughout the opening quarter. Helios eked out a 16:14 lead after the opening quarter. Helios stretched the gap in the second frame. They established a comfortable 37:27 halftime lead. Sdent Helios played a near-perfect defence in the third term. They held Riva Basket to just 4 points in the quarter posting a 44:31 lead with ten minutes remaining. Riva Basket unleashed 23 points in the fourth term but Helios were ready and responded with 20 to seal the victory. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) and Jalinka Michaux (173-F-87) notched 11 points each for Helios. Shannon McCallum (177-G-87, college: Charlotte) netted 20 points for Riva Basket. Judit Jakab (178-F-89) finished with 9 points in the loss.

Bottom-ranked Winterthur (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 99-94 loss to tenth ranked Massagno (4-8) in Winterthur on Sunday evening. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC) who scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The biggest surprise took place in Nyon where host BBC Nyon (10-3) crushed league's leader Vevey (10-3) 92-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Vevey. We bring you last week's top performances from Swiss players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is former international power forward Clint Capela (208-94). He could not help the Houston Rockets (34-13) in their last game.
