After a first home game dominated by Sdent Helios VS Basket from end to end (93-67), BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket reacted in the Act 2 to tight the serie to 1-1. Sdent Helios VS Basket dominated the first minutes of the game with a 19-9 whose 12 points scored by Karen Twehues (182-G-83, college: Cincinnati) in 6 minutes.
The solution in Fribourg came first from an aggressive defense and from the duo Trahan-Villarroel who added 62 points. The advantage kept going from one side to another: 19-20 after 10min; 28-33 at 16min; 38-37 at the half; 51-50 at the end of the third quarter and 66-66 at the end that forces the game to go overtime. The decisive player in the money time was Maria Villarroel (174-G-78, agency: LBM Management, college: Oklahoma) who played aggressive and scoring important points. She provoked 10 fouls in the game and finished almost perfect at the free throw line with 17/18 and 36 points. Celeste Trahan (184-C-85, agency: LBM Management, college: Elizabeth City) dominated the board with 17 rebounds (14 defensive rebounds), blocked 4 shots and scored 26 points. Dana Bozovic (180-F-93, agency: LBM Management) had 5 points 5 assists and 4 rebounds. For Sdent Helios VS Basket, the best scorer is Karen Twehues, who finishes with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. Mandisa Stevenson (191-C-82, college: Auburn) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds and Caroline Turin (173-F-87) added 13 points. Renee Taylor (158-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: Miami, FL) had 11 points and 4 assists.
After 36 undefeated games, Helios records its first loss in game 2 of the finals against Fribourg that even the serie to 1-1. The next game is Saturday May 12th in Fribourg.

Clube Uniao Sportiva Ponta Delgada (Liga Feminina) tabbed 25-year old American power forward Jassany Williams (188-92, college: Miami, FL). She played most recently at BC Alte Kanti Aarau in Swiss LNA league. In 13 games she averaged 14.2ppg, 12.5rpg (leader !!!), 1.7spg and 3.9bpg last season. Williams helped them to make it to the Swiss League Cup Semifinals. She graduated from University of Miami, Florida in 2015 and it is her second season in pro basketball. Former international Power forward Marielle Giroud (182-F/C-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Helios, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. The 29-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 20 rebounds, while her team beat Pully (#6, 4-7) 80-67. Helios maintains the 2nd position in Swiss LNA. LNA Round 12: Aarau lose to Fribourg in the game between Top 4 teams - 8 days ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The game between Top Four teams took place in Fribourg. First ranked host Fribourg (9-1) smashed 3rd ranked Aarau (6-5) 70-49. The game was mostly controlled by Fribourg. Aarau managed to win fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
