Switzerland clinch 15th place in Division B of the U20 European Championship. The Swiss side finished the tournament with the win over F.Y.R. of Macedonia 80:71 as the latter ended up on the 16th place. Both teams realized the importance of the last game at the tournament. They desired to finish on the higher place and showed their best on Saturday night. F.Y.R. of Macedonia took 19:18 after the first 10 minutes in the court and added 12-9 in the second frame for 4-point lead at the halftime. The second half however belonged to the Swiss side. They won the third period 28-17 and finished the game with 25-23 in the last stanza. Evrard Atcho (207-C/F-92) erupted with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Brian Savoy (192-SG-92) added 22. Marko Mladjan (206-F-93) finished the game with 11 points and Milos Bozovic (201-F-92) scored 8. Boban Stajic (185-PG-93) produced 25 points in defeat and Goran Markovski (195-G/F-92) added 21.
Lugano Tigers surprised Fribourg away from home to squeeze into the LNA Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Lugano Tigers. Fribourg managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-76, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 20 points and 5 assists.
