Portugal overwhelm Switzerland for the top place in Group D of the U16 European Championship in Division B. They destroy the opponents 72:38 and took 4-0 record on top. The Swiss side fell at 3-1 record and shares the second place with Hungary.
Although it was the game for the first place in the group, it was not that interesting. The Swiss side could not match the opponents since the beginning of the game. Portugal erupted with 21-8 in the first period and had 10-point lead at the halftime. They won the third quarter 18-14 and added 24-5 in the last quarter to limit Switzerland to just 38 points at the end.
Luis Camara (194-SF-96) top-scored for the winners with 14 points and Sergio da Silva (191-SG-96) added 11. Carlos Salamanca (187-G-97) delivered 10, whilst Sergio Brito (190-PG-97) nailed 9. Anthony Polite (190-SF-97) finished the agm,e with 10 points and Leo Fragniere (195-SF-97) posted 9.

Neuchatel - Fribourg 78-65 Neuchatel celebrated the second straight victory in LNA Finals. They beat Fribourg to even the title series at 2-2. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Fribourg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Starwings Basket Regio Basel announced the signing of Robert Devcic (192-F-92). The Swiss guard/forward comes back to Basel after two seasons. Last season he played in LNB with BCKE Wallabies and he averaged 2.3 points and 2.5 rebounds.   [read more]

Neuchatel - Fribourg 82-68 Neuchatel fired past Fribourg to stay alive in the LNA title chase. The game was mostly controlled by Neuchatel. Fribourg managed to win fourth quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game.
