U20 GREECE - U20 SWITZERLAND 81-39

Greece extended its winning streak to three at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. This time Greece smashed Switzerland 81-39 for 3-0 record at this event. It was the second appearance for Switzerland and they faced with second straight loss. Greece made 22-point lead at the halftime and increased it to plus 33 for the next ten minutes. Switzerland had no chance for rest of the game. Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi (187-F-92) led Greece in scoring with 15 points, but their best player was Artemis Spanou (184-F-93) with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Styliani Fouraki (186-C-94) netted 12 pts. In defeat, Rosalie Grobet (185-F/C-92) delivered 9 points and Dorothee Studer (169-G-92) had 6. Greece will play against Germany tomorrow. Switzerland will meet Belgium.

Fizzy Riva Muraltese (LNA) inked American guard Jackie Nared (185). She graduated from Saint Mary's College of California (NCAA) and has played there from 2011-2014. In season 2013/14 she averaged 21.8 points per game and had 7.4 rebounds. Among other achievements her team made it to the WCC Tournament Semifinals for two years in a row (2012 and 2013). Nared received also All-WCC 1st Team award in 2013 and 2014 at her college time.   [read more]

Blonay Basket (LNB) signed 24-year old small forward Sarah Cavin (178-92). The last time (10-14) she played at Hope-Geneve in Swiss LNA league. Cavin has played there for the last four years.The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others her team made it to the Swiss Cup Final Four in 2012 and 2014.
