U20 GREECE - U20 SWITZERLAND 81-39

Greece extended its winning streak to three at U20 EuroBasket Division B in Klatovy. This time Greece smashed Switzerland 81-39 for 3-0 record at this event. It was the second appearance for Switzerland and they faced with second straight loss. Greece made 22-point lead at the halftime and increased it to plus 33 for the next ten minutes. Switzerland had no chance for rest of the game. Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi (187-F-92) led Greece in scoring with 15 points, but their best player was Artemis Spanou (184-F-93) with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Styliani Fouraki (186-C-94) netted 12 pts. In defeat, Rosalie Grobet (185-F/C-92) delivered 9 points and Dorothee Studer (169-G-92) had 6. Greece will play against Germany tomorrow. Switzerland will meet Belgium.

American Center Khadijiah Cave (190-C-95) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pully, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3. The 22-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Bellinzona (#7, 0-2) with 17-point margin 79-62. After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the SBL and who belongs to weaker ones. Fribourg smashed Helios at home 89-51. The game without a history. Fribourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Helios to just 7 points in third quarter. 30-year old power forward Marielle Giroud (181-F/C-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Fribourg and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. She had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Riva (#8, 0-2) with 37-point margin 87-50.
