There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNA. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

SAV Vacallo - Fribourg 73-57

It was a very close game until the last quarter, when SAV Vacallo's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-12 extending their advantage to 16 points. SAV Vacallo forced 19 Fribourg turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Ivan Kuburovic (203-81) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Rickey Gibson (191-84, college: Stillman) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Four SAV Vacallo players scored in double figures. International Jonathan Kazadi (193-91) produced 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. SAV Vacallo have a solid three-game winning streak.

Lugano Tigers - SAM Massagno 119-101

The game was mostly controlled by Lugano Tigers. SAM Massagno was better in third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lugano Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 62. Lugano Tigers had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. The former international Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Lugano Tigers' coach Randoald Dessarzin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jamelle Barrett (180-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals and his fellow American import power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) added 28 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for SAM Massagno. Five Lugano Tigers and four SAM Massagno players scored in double figures.

Neuchatel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American guard Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import guard Derrick Lang (194-80, college: Incarnate Word) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Neuchatel's coach Arnaud Ricoux allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Justin Dobbins (203-87, college: E.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Starwings.

Geneve Lions forced 26 Boncourt turnovers and outrebounded them 34-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Boncourt's players. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). He played last season at 5 STELLE SAM Basket Massagno in Swiss LNA league. Lions de Geneve signs Roberto Kovac, Juraj Kozic and Randon Grueninger - 7 days ago

Lions de Geneve signed three players: Roberto Kovac (189-SG-90), Juraj Kozic (198-SF-95) and Randon Grueninger (193-F-95). Kovac played last five seasons with Fribourg Olympic. Last season the Swiss shooting guard averaged 9.9 points and he won Swiss LNA championship and the Swiss Cup. Kozic played with Lugano Tigers and he averaged 7.1 points per game. The Croatian-Swiss signed a two-seasons deal. Grueninger leaved SAM Massagno, last seasons he averaged 5.7 points.   [read more]
