American John Roberson (180-PG-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Monthey and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 24-year old playmaker got a double-double of 21 points and ten assists, while his team edged out Lugano Tigers (2-1) in overtime 86-84. Monthey is placed at 5th position in Swiss LNA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Monthey will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Roberson had a remarkable three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Monthey's top player in his first season with the team. Texas Tech University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Roberson is in league's top in points (9th best: 17.5ppg), assists (2nd best: 7.5apg) and averages solid 5.0spg and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-F-85, agency: Warren Sports International) of Starwings. Burrows impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Starwings lost that game 77-89 to BBC Nyon (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Burrows is well-known by Starwings fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Richie Gordon (203-F-89) of Lugano Tigers (#4). Gordon scored 18 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Gordon's great performance Lugano Tigers lost 84-86in overtime to Monthey (2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Lugano Tigers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Gordon has a great season in Switzerland. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (6th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marvin Owens (196-G/F-86) of BBC Nyon - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Brandon Jenkins (190-G-85) of Starwings - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Justin Dobbins (203-C/F-87) of Starwings - 22 points and 10 rebounds
7. Darrius Garrett (205-F/C-90) of Fribourg - 11 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Larry O'Bannon (194-G-83) of SAV Vacallo - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Roberto Kovac (188-SG-90) of Fribourg - 26 points
10. Justin Rutty (200-F-89) of BBC Nyon - 22 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
