LNA is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Fribourg. First ranked Fribourg faced 4th placed Monthey. Host Fribourg (8-1) defeated guests from Monthey (6-3) 81-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Monthey. The game without a history. Fribourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Monthey 44-24 including 17 on the offensive glass. Fribourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) chipped in 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian forward Adnan Hodzic (203-88, college: Lipscomb, agency: Pro One Sports) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds. Fribourg have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Monthey at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Fribourg are looking forward to face Neuchatel (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Monthey will play against Boncourt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Starwings (#10) forced the game against Lugano Tigers (#5) into an overtime, but lost by ten points 79-89. The game took place in Basel. But the guests from Lugano were better at the end. It was a good game for American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Korvotney Barber contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Lugano Tigers' coach Randoald Dessarzin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for Starwings. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 5-4 record, which they share with Boncourt. Starwings at the other side stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with SAM Massagno. Lugano Tigers will play against BBC Nyon (#8) at home in the next round. Starwings will play against the league's second-placed SAV Vacallo in Chiasso to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in Nyon was also quite interesting. Third ranked SAV Vacallo (7-2) played at the court of 8th ranked BBC Nyon (2-7). SAV Vacallo defeated BBC Nyon 82-70 on Sunday. Larry O'Bannon stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. The best for the losing side was Jean-Richard Volcy with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. SAV Vacallo moved-up to second place, which they share with Geneve Lions. BBC Nyon lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. SAV Vacallo will meet at home bottom-ranked Starwings (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BBC Nyon will play against Lugano Tigers and hope to secure a win.
The game in Neuchatel was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Geneve Lions (7-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Neuchatel (3-6). Geneve Lions defeated Neuchatel 62-51. Kelvin Parker nailed 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Geneve Lions. They maintain second place with 7-2 record behind leader Fribourg, which they share with SAV Vacallo. Newly promoted Neuchatel keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Geneve Lions' next round opponent will be SAM Massagno (#9) at home and are hoping to win another game. Neuchatel will play against the league's leader Fribourg.

The game with biggest result difference took place in Massagno. Local SAM Massagno (1-8) lost to sixth ranked Boncourt (5-4) 95-78 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 17 points. Boncourt made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game, while SAM Massagno only scored eight points from the stripe. SAM Massagno was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) who scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Ivorian forward Ismael N'Diaye (197-82, college: FIU) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Boncourt's coach Antoine Petitjean used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SAV Vacallo dominated on the defensive end, holding BBC Nyon to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Larry O'Bannon (194-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. Starwings (#10) forced the game against Lugano Tigers (#5) into an overtime, but lost by ten points 79-89. The game took place in Basel. But the guests from Lugano were better at the end. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 20-15 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-5. Lugano Tigers forced 22 Starwings turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The game in Neuchatel was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Geneve Lions (7-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Neuchatel (3-6). Geneve Lions defeated Neuchatel 62-51. The game was mostly controlled by Geneve Lions. Neuchatel was better in third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Geneve Lions won last quarter 17-7. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Neuchatel to just 7 points in fourth quarter. American guard Kelvin Parker (183-82, college: NW Missouri St.) nailed 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Croatian power forward Andrej Stimac (204-79) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Villars Basket (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old power forward Ludovic De Gottrau (194-91). It is actually his comeback to Villars as he has played here before. De Gottrau played recently at Fribourg Olympic (LNA). LNB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. He helped them to win the Supercup. American Chris Jones (188-G-93) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Starwings and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The 23-year old guard had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Starwings in his team's victory, helping them to beat Lugano Tigers (#10, 3-5) 64-56. Lugano Tigers U23 signs Kendyl Grover - 4 days ago

Lugano Tigers U23 (LNB) signed American forward Kendyl Grover (203). He just graduated from Adams St. College (NCAA2). He played 22 games where he had 11.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.0apg last season. As mentioned above Grover is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. He played at the RMAC Tournament Semifinals in 2015.
