American-Jamaican Ronald Yates (201-F-83) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Fribourg and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 22 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team crushed Monthey (#4, 6-3) with 17-point margin 81-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Fribourg to consolidate first place in the Swiss LNA. Fribourg have a solid 8-1 record. It's Yates' second year at Fribourg and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Ronald Yates averages this season 11.9ppg and 5.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American forward Richie Gordon (203-F-89) of Lugano Tigers. Gordon impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Lugano Tigers cruised to a 89-79 overtime win over the lower-ranked Starwings (#10, 1-8). Lugano Tigers' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Gordon is a newcomer at Lugano Tigers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Shy Ely (194-G/F-87, agency: Merit Sports) of Boncourt (#6). Ely showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, six rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Boncourt, leading his team to a 95-78 easy win against the lower-ranked SAM Massagno (#9, 1-8). Boncourt needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Ely has a great season in Switzerland. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (9th best). He also has 2.4spg and and 3PT: 52.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Korvotney Barber (201-F-87) of Lugano Tigers - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Larry O'Bannon (194-G-83) of SAV Vacallo - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Hakeem Rollins (202-F/C-83) of SAV Vacallo - 17 points and 12 rebounds
7. Jaraun Burrows (203-F-85) of Starwings - 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Ismael N'Diaye (197-F-82) of Boncourt - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Jean-Richard Volcy (203-F-82) of BBC Nyon - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Justin Rutty (200-F-89) of BBC Nyon - 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
