in the dual of Riva Basket vs BCF Elfic Fribourg Basket the home team took advantage of its opponent, they outscoured them in the last quarter (23-4) registering their 9th victory with final score of 72-50. The best player of the game and of the week-end is Cameo Hicks (182-G/F-84, college: Washington) who had 36points for Riva Basket. Other good performance, of swiss guard Lisa Mazzocchi (170-G/F-90) with 15points. On Fribourg side, the best scorer is Kaitlin Sowinski (196-C-86, agency: Two Points, college: Sacred Heart) with 18 points, followed by Kirby Copeland (182-G-85, agency: LBM Management, college: Virginia Tech) 11points and by swiss forward Emilie Butty (180-F-91) with 8points.
In the second game Esperance Sportive Pully vs Hope-GBA Bernex the visitors took their revenge after loosing the home game on October 12th against Pully by only 5 points. The home team led the first half of the game, going to the locker room up by 9 points, but the team from Geneva, Hope-GBA Bernex never gave up and was able to take the lead by the fourth quarter (9-18) and won the game 51-53. Scorers for Pully: Quiana Porter (187-F/C-91, college: St.Peter's) 15points, Nour Ben Ayed (168-G-96), Anne-Sophie Gavin (168-G-92) and Merveilles Tshitenge (176-F-95) added 7points each. Scorers for Hope-GBA Bernex: Jalinka Michaux (173-F-87) 15points, Sarah Cavin (178-SF-92) 10points. This is an important win for Hope-GBA Bernex as they are now ranking at the 4th seat of LNA.
The new promoted Metanord Bellinzona went to get their first win of the season against Luzern Highflyers (64-72). This is collective achievement as 5 players of the team scored a double digit: American player Julie Seabrook (190-F-90, college: Colorado) had 24 points, Miryam Sohm (181-F-95) and Katarina Stupar (181-F-95) 12points, Nancy Fora (173-G-97) and Seneit Garbani (177-G-93) 11 points. On Luzern team the scorers are ex-Bellinzon player Giulia Simioni (173-PG-93) was best scorer with 14points, Chelsea Snyder (198-C-90, college: VCU) had 12points, Gabriela Sakica (164-PG-97) 10points.
Fizzy Muraltese lost their home game 57-75 and with it the occasion to move up in the ranking against SC Uni Basel Basket. Uni Basel was able to limited scoring guard Takia Starks (173-G-87, college: Texas A&M) (2nd best scorer of the league with 28.1ppg) to only 6 points.
Best scorer for Muraltese is Judit Jakab (178-F-89) with 17points, followed by Elhome Himaj (175-G-86) 10points. For Basel, the scorers: Megan Skouby (193-C-86, college: Iowa) 18points, Michelle Harrison (190-F-87, college: Utah) 13points, Marisa Heckendorn (170-F-84) 12points, Delphine Monnier (178-G/F-91) 11points, Eva Moldovanyi (183-F/C-87) 10points.
In the derby between Ovronnaz-Martigny Basket and Sdent Helios VS Basket, the home team was only able to lead in the first minutes of the game, but with the absence of their top player Jamila Griffith who suffered an injury and had surgery last week, it was very challenging for the young team of Valais. The only player with double digit for Ovronnaz-Martigny is Lia Volpe (163-PG-86) with 14points. Helios was also missing some of their core player Karen Twehues who was sick. The best scorers for Helios: MVP of the first round Marielle Giroud (180-F-87, college: Franklin Pierce) with 19points, Diodio Diouf (170-G-84) 18points, Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) 15points, Caroline Turin (173-F-87) 13points. Helios remains undefeated this season. Score final 37-79.

Uniao Sportiva lands Jassany Williams, ex Aarau - 5 days ago
Clube Uniao Sportiva Ponta Delgada (Liga Feminina) tabbed 25-year old American power forward Jassany Williams (188-92, college: Miami, FL). She played most recently at BC Alte Kanti Aarau in Swiss LNA league. In 13 games she averaged 14.2ppg, 12.5rpg (leader !!!), 1.7spg and 3.9bpg last season. Williams helped them to make it to the Swiss League Cup Semifinals. She graduated from University of Miami, Florida in 2015 and it is her second season in pro basketball. Giroud number one in Switzerland for round 12 - 8 days ago
Former international Power forward Marielle Giroud (182-F/C-87) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Helios, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 12. The 29-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 20 rebounds, while her team beat Pully (#6, 4-7) 80-67. Helios maintains the 2nd position in Swiss LNA. LNA Round 12: Aarau lose to Fribourg in the game between Top 4 teams - 11 days ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The game between Top Four teams took place in Fribourg. First ranked host Fribourg (9-1) smashed 3rd ranked Aarau (6-5) 70-49. The game was mostly controlled by Fribourg. Aarau managed to win fourth quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
