Cameo Hicks
American swingman Cameo Hicks (182-G/F-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Riva Basket, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 36 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Fribourg (#5, 7-4) with 22-point margin 72-50. Riva Basket maintains the 2nd position in Swiss LNA. They are still close to the very top. Riva Basket would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 9-2 record. Hicks turned to be Riva Basket's top player in her first season with the team. Former The University of Washington star has very solid stats this year. Hicks is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.9ppg. Hicks is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 4.2apg) and averages impressive 3.9spg and 58.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old international forward Marielle Giroud (180-F-87) of league's leader Helios. Giroud had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she lead Helios to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Ovronnaz-Mart. (#3, 8-3) 79-37. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Helios consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and Helios managed to win all 11 games keeping perfect record. Giroud is a newcomer at Helios, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Canadian forward Julie Seabrook (190-F-90) of Bellinzona (#9). Seabrook scored 23 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Bellinzona, leading her team to a 72-64 win against Highflyers (1-10). Bellinzona can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Seabrook she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Seabrook has individually a great season in Switzerland. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.1rpg (4th best). She also has 2.7spg, 1.5bpg and FGP: 50.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Megan Skouby (193-C-86) of Basel - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Kaitlin Sowinski (196-C-86) of Fribourg - 18 points and 7 rebounds
6. Quiana Porter (187-F/C-91) of Pully - 15 points and 16 rebounds
7. Rhona McKenzie (183-F-76) of Riva Basket - 6 points and 15 rebounds
8. Jalinka Michaux (173-F-87) of Hope-GBA - 15 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Giulia Simioni (173-PG-93) of Highflyers - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Judit Jakab (178-F-89) of Muraltese - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
