The game between Top Four teams took place in Fribourg. First ranked host Fribourg (11-1) defeated 4th placed SAV Vacallo (9-3) 77-72. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-72. Fribourg had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) helped adding 8 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Fribourg have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. SAV Vacallo at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Geneve Lions. Fribourg are looking forward to face bottom-ranked SAM Massagno (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SAV Vacallo will play against Geneve Lions (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Starwings managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against seventh-ranked Neuchatel in Basel 80-65. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Starwings is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It was an exceptional evening for Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Brandon Jenkins accounted for 19 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (206-92) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Neuchatel in the defeat. Starwings (3-9) moved-up to eighth place. Neuchatel lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Starwings will play against BBC Nyon (#9) at home in the next round. Neuchatel will play against Boncourt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Boncourt was also quite interesting. Second ranked Geneve Lions (9-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Boncourt (5-7). Geneve Lions managed to secure a 9-point victory 89-80 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Juwann James who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Geneve Lions' coach Ivan Rudez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shy Ely produced 21 points and 6 assists for the hosts. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Geneve Lions. They maintain second place with 9-3 record having just two points less than leader Fribourg, which they share with SAV Vacallo. Boncourt lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Geneve Lions will meet at home league's second-placed SAV Vacallo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boncourt will play against Neuchatel (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bozo Djurasovic orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Despite that victory Monthey went down to fourth position due to points difference. BBC Nyon lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Monthey's next round opponent will be Lugano Tigers (#5) on the road. BBC Nyon will play against Starwings (#8) in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for Clint Chapman who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. SAM Massagno's coach Robbi Gubitosa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. SAM Massagno maintains ninth place with 2-10 record, which they share with BBC Nyon. Defending champion Lugano Tigers keep the fifth position with five games lost. SAM Massagno will face league's leader Fribourg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lugano Tigers will play against Monthey (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Starwings - Neuchatel 80-65

Bottom-ranked Starwings managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against seventh-ranked Neuchatel in Basel 80-65. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Starwings is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Starwings. Neuchatel was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Starwings dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Neuchatel's 32. Starwings forced 19 Neuchatel turnovers and outrebounded them 34-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. They outrebounded Boncourt 40-17 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Juwann James (198-87, college: JMU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-69. SAM Massagno looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Jamelle Barrett (180-88) helped adding 14 points and 10 assists. The game in Nyon was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Monthey (8-4) played at the court of 8th ranked BBC Nyon (2-10). Monthey managed to secure a 8-point victory 69-61. It looked good early as BBC Nyon took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Monthey had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and BBC Nyon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-69. Strangely BBC Nyon outrebounded Monthey 41-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bosnian forward Bozo Djurasovic (200-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Denver Holmes (193-89, college: Evansville) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import swingman Marvin Owens (196-86, college: Northwood) added 18 points in the effort for BBC Nyon. Despite that victory Monthey went down to fourth position due to points difference. BBC Nyon lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Vevey win LNB in fifth-game series against BBC Nyon. They won last game with the dominating entire game and final result was 82:55 for Paolo Povia players. They won also Regular Season as they finished 1st with only 3 loses and 18 wins. They will return to LNA after almost ten years of playing in LNB.
