Adnan Hodzic
Bosnia and Herzegovina forward Adnan Hodzic (203-F-88, agency: Pro One Sports) had a great game in the last round for Monthey, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, six rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Starwings (#8, 3-11) with 26-point margin 109-83. Monthey is placed at 3rd position in Swiss LNA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Monthey will need more victories to improve their 10-4 record. Hodzic turned to be Monthey's top player in his first season with the team. Adnan Hodzic averages this season 16.9ppg and 6.4rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Justin Rutty (200-F-89) of BBC Nyon. Rutty had a very good evening with 28 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as BBC Nyon lost that game 78-83 to the higher-ranked Boncourt (#6, 6-7). BBC Nyon managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories BBC Nyon managed to get this year. Rutty is a newcomer at BBC Nyon, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.1ppg (#1). He also registered 12.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-G-76, agency: Beo Basket) of Lugano Tigers (#5). Milisavljevic scored 17 points and passed ten assists (!!!). He was a key player of Lugano Tigers, leading his team to a 101-80 easy win against slightly higher-ranked SAV Vacallo (#4, 9-4). Lugano Tigers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Milisavljevic has a very solid season. In 3 games in Switzerland he scored 16.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ronald Yates (201-F-83) of Fribourg - 25 points and 6 rebounds
5. Andrej Stimac (204-F/C-79) of Geneve Lions - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Joel Fuchs (189-PG-89) of Starwings - 31 points and 3 rebounds
7. Jean-Richard Volcy (203-F-82) of BBC Nyon - 24 points and 12 rebounds
8. Feliks Kojadinovic (197-G-79) of Monthey - 13 points and 11 assists
9. Brandon Jenkins (190-G-85) of Starwings - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Jackson Capel (191-G-87) of Boncourt - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Elio Sabo
Villars welcome back Sabo - 4 days ago

Villars Basket (LNB) landed 21-year old point guard Elio Sabo (181-95). It is actually his comeback to Villars as he has played here before. Sabo already started the season at BBC Lausanne in LNA. He helped his team get promotion to LNA. LNB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The last season Sabo played also at Lausanne where in 19 LNB games he averaged just 2.7ppg and 1.3rpg. He contributed to his team winning the LNB title (twice). Sabo represented Switz...   [read more]
