Kaitlin
Sowinski
26-year old center Kaitlin Sowinski (196-C-86, agency: Two Points) had a great game in the last round for and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
She had a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds, while her team beat (#0, ), the league's bottom-ranked team 64-54. Muraltese is placed at 6th position in Swiss LNA. Muraltese is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-9 record. Sowinski just recently signed at Muraltese, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Kaitlin Sowinski averages this season 0ppg0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Celeste Trahan-Davis (184-C-85, agency: LBM Management) of Fribourg. She is American center in her first season at Fribourg. In the last game Trahan-Davis recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 23 rebounds. Bad luck as Fribourg was edged by league's leader Helios (#1, 15-0) 82-80. Fribourg managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 10-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Trahan-Davis is a newcomer at Fribourg and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Julie Seabrook (190-F-90) of Bellinzona (#9). Seabrook scored 24 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Bellinzona, leading her team to a 76-49 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Basel (#8, 4-11). Bellinzona can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Seabrook she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Seabrook has individually a great season in Switzerland. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.3ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 13.2rpg (4th best). She also has 2.6spg, 1.5bpg and FGP: 50.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Katia Clement (183-C-85) of Ovronnaz-Mart. - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Jamila Studer-Griffith (183-G/F-82) of Ovronnaz-Mart. - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Cameo Hicks (182-G/F-84) of Riva Basket - 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Chelsea Snyder (198-C-90) of Highflyers - 13 points and 13 rebounds
8. Vanessa Dorestant (170-G-92) of Highflyers - 23 points and 4 rebounds
9. Alexia Rol (175-F-82) of Helios - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Quiana Porter (187-F/C-91) of Pully - 10 points and 12 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

LNA Round 4 of Second Stage - 3 days ago
There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in LNA. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Aarau as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Places 1-5. Aarau smashed 4th ranked Geneve Basket at home 79-55. The game was mostly controlled by Aarau. Geneve Basket managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Geneve Basket to just 6 points in third quar...   [read more]
