Vacallo and SAM Massagno will play in the Swiss Cup Final. They celebrated victories in respective semifinal battles yesterday.
Vacallo prevailed against Union Neuchatel 80:66. Hakeem Rollins (202-F/C-83, agency: Dream Team Management, college: Washington) came up with 23 points to pace the winners. Neuchatel led by as many as five points at halftime 39:34. The margin grew at 6-point mark at the final break. But Vacallo went on a 29:9 run in the fourth period to seal the victory. Larry O'Bannon (194-G-83, agency: Interperformances, college: Louisville) delivered 16 points for the winners. Derrick Lang (194-G-80, college: Incarnate Word) answered with 12 points for Neuchatel. Quinton Day (185-G-84, agency: Three Eye Sports, college: UMKC) had 11 points in defeat.
SAM Massagno prevailed against Benetton Fribourg 81:70. Jamelle Barrett (180-PG-88) stepped up with 20 points to lead the charge. SAM Massagno confidently started the game. They gained a 40:29 halftime advantage. Fribourg answered with a 26:12 run in the third term to spur ahead. But SAM Massagno dropped 29 points in the fourth term to snatch win at the end. Pete Campbell (201-F-84, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Butler) chipped in 19 points in the victory. Edwin Draughan (196-G/F-82, college: Yale) responded with 26 points for Fribourg.

Union Olimpija Ljubljana (Liga Nova KBM) inked 23-year old Swiss international forward Marko Mladjan (205-93). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Serbian passport. Mladjan played most recently at BBC Monthey in Swiss LNA league. In 32 games he averaged impressive 16.4ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.5apg, 1.2spg and 1.2bpg last season. He helped them to win the cup. BC Winterthur (LNA) added to their roster 20-year old forward Amir Savon (201-89kg-96, college: Mississippi Valley State) from 5 STELLE SAM Basket Massagno. But in 6 LNA games he had just 1.0ppg last season. Savon just graduated from Mississippi Valley State and it will be his first season as a pro. Zalakeramia-ZTE KK (A Division) landed 25-year old American guard Julian Norfleet (188-75kg-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's), with a 15 days try-out period. He played most recently at BC Boncourt Red Team in Swiss LNA league. In 27 games he averaged impressive 16.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.3apg and 1.9spg last season.
