Neuchatel (9-8) outlasted Monthey (10-7) in overtime by two points 73-71 on Wednesday night. Thomas Coleman stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Neuchatel have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lugano Tigers. Monthey lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost. Neuchatel will face league's second-placed Geneve Lions on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will play against the league's leader Fribourg.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 25 points by Larry O'Bannon of SAV Vacallo.



SAM Massagno - SAV Vacallo 81-86

Very expected game when 10th ranked SAM Massagno (3-14) was defeated at home by third ranked SAV Vacallo (12-5) 86-81 on Wednesday. The game without a history. SAV Vacallo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. SAV Vacallo forced 19 SAM Massagno turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Italian-Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (206-86, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-83, college: Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Jamelle Barrett (180-88) responded with 19 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Tommy Freeman (195-88, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 19 points and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SAV Vacallo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-5 record having just three points less than leader Fribourg. SAM Massagno at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. SAV Vacallo will face BBC Nyon (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SAM Massagno will play against Boncourt.

Rather predictable result when first ranked Fribourg (15-2) defeated at home 5th ranked Lugano Tigers (9-8) 74-62 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Fribourg. Lugano Tigers was better in second period 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) stepped up and scored 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points. Villars Basket (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old power forward Ludovic De Gottrau (194-91). It is actually his comeback to Villars as he has played here before. Lugano Tigers U23 (LNB) signed American forward Kendyl Grover (203). He just graduated from Adams St. College (NCAA2). He played 22 games where he had 11.5ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.0apg last season. As mentioned above Grover is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. He played at the RMAC Tournament Semifinals in 2015.
