Rollins
American power forward Hakeem Rollins (202-F/C-83, agency: Dream Team Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for SAV Vacallo, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat SAM Massagno (#10, 3-14) 86-81. SAV Vacallo maintains the 3rd position in Swiss LNA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. SAV Vacallo will need more victories to improve their 12-5 record. Rollins turned to be SAV Vacallo's top player in his first season with the team. Hakeem Rollins averages this season 16.7ppg and 11.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Bahamas Jaraun Burrows (203-F-85, agency: Warren Sports International) of Starwings. Burrows had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he lead Starwings to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Boncourt (#7, 6-11) 86-64. Starwings' 8th position in the standings has not changed. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Starwings managed to get this year. Burrows is well-known at Starwings and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jamelle Barrett (180-PG-88) of SAM Massagno (#10). Barrett scored 19 points and passed seven assists. Despite Barrett's great performance SAM Massagno lost 81-86 to the higher-ranked SAV Vacallo (#3, 12-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. SAM Massagno can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-14 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Barrett he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Barrett has individually a great season in Switzerland. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 8.2apg (best passer). He also has 3.0spg and FGP: 53.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Larry O'Bannon (194-G-83) of SAV Vacallo - 25 points and 3 rebounds
5. Arizona Reid (196-F-86) of Fribourg - 24 points and 7 rebounds
6. Jonathan Dubas (202-SF-91) of Monthey - 14 points and 12 rebounds
7. Justin Dobbins (203-C/F-87) of Starwings - 21 points and 8 rebounds
8. Brandon Jenkins (190-G-85) of Starwings - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Juwann James (198-F/C-87) of Geneve Lions - 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Tommy Freeman (195-F-88) of SAM Massagno - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

LNA Round 2 (Second Stage): Monthey beat Starwings by three after a very close game - 19 hours ago
There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Second Stage in LNA. Sixth-ranked Starwings (10-12) used its home court advantage to challenge Monthey (15-7) in Basel on Sunday. The visitors from Monthey managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected easier game. Starwings trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 26-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-79 at the end of the game. 24 personal fouls committed by...   [read more]

Chris Jones gets MVP of the Week award for Swiss LNA (Second Stage) - 19 hours ago
American Chris Jones (188-G-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Starwings and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage). LNB Round 21 of Regular Season - 1 day ago
The most shocking disappointment of round 21 was a home defeat of second-best Meyrin Basket (14-7) to third ranked Pully (15-6) 75-67 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Meyrin Basket was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 21-8 charge of Pully, which allowed them to win the game. Pully have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Meyri...   [read more]
