There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in LNA.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Fribourg (16-3) in Basel on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Starwings (6-13) 93-83. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fribourg. Fribourg was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. American power forward Justin Dobbins (203-87, college: E.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Edwin Draughan (196-82, college: Yale) answered with 18 points and 8 assists for Fribourg. Starwings moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Boncourt. Fribourg at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Starwings is looking forward to face higher ranked Monthey (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fribourg will play against Neuchatel (#6) and is hoping to win this game.

At the losing side American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. BBC Nyon (4-15) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated SAM Massagno. BBC Nyon will play against league's second-placed Geneve Lions at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SAM Massagno will play against Lugano Tigers (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between sixth ranked Neuchatel (10-9) and 7th ranked Boncourt (6-13) in Neuchatel on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Neuchatel outscored guests from Boncourt 92-51. It was a quality performance for Jules Aw who led the winners and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Nicolas Dos Santos came up with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Boncourt in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neuchatel moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Monthey. Boncourt lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Starwings. Neuchatel will meet league's leader Fribourg on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Boncourt will play against SAV Vacallo (#3) in Chiasso and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 19 Monthey was beaten by Lugano Tigers on the road 70-63.



SAM Massagno - BBC Nyon 80-88

Bottom-ranked BBC Nyon managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of five consecutive loses. This time they won against ninth-ranked SAM Massagno 88-80. SAM Massagno was ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 35-18 charge of BBC Nyon, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. SAM Massagno was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Canadian forward Jean-Richard Volcy (203-82, college: N.Michigan) helped adding 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jamelle Barrett (180-88) scored 23 points. Five BBC Nyon and four SAM Massagno players scored in double figures. BBC Nyon (4-15) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated SAM Massagno. BBC Nyon will play against league's second-placed Geneve Lions at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SAM Massagno will play against Lugano Tigers (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The game without a history. Neuchatel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Boncourt's 28. Neuchatel forced 26 Boncourt turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a quality performance for naturalized Senegalese forward Jules Aw (200-86) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Naturalized Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (206-92) accounted for 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers - Monthey 70-63

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Lugano Tigers and 5th ranked Monthey had identical 10-8 record. This time Lugano Tigers used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Monthey 70-63 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 37-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lugano Tigers forced 21 Monthey turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-76, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 18 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Bosnian forward Adnan Hodzic (203-88, college: Lipscomb, agency: Pro One Sports) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian Brian Savoy (192-92) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Monthey in the defeat. LNB Round 9: Vevey keeps a leadership position - 13 hours ago

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Vevey as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Vevey defeated 5th ranked Pully at home 78-70. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Pully won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meyrin Basket signs Bennett just out of college - 5 days ago

22-year old Swiss forward Brian Bennett (186-94). just graduated from Flagler (NCAA2). Bennett missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro.

Villars welcome back Sabo - 5 days ago

Villars Basket (LNB) landed 21-year old point guard Elio Sabo (181-95). It is actually his comeback to Villars as he has played here before. Sabo already started the season at BBC Lausanne in LNA. He helped his team get promotion to LNA. LNB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The last season Sabo played also at Lausanne where in 19 LNB games he averaged just 2.7ppg and 1.3rpg. He contributed to his team winning the LNB title (twice).
