Third-ranked Lugano Tigers (12-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked Geneve Lions (16-4) on Saturday. Geneve Lions managed to secure only four-point victory 93-89. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lugano Tigers. The best player for the winners was Andrej Stimac who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Geneve Lions' coach Ivan Rudez used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Geneve Lions have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-4 record having just three points less than leader Fribourg. Defending champion Lugano Tigers keep the third position with nine games lost. Geneve Lions will face league's leader Fribourg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lugano Tigers will play against Neuchatel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The best stats of 21th round was 24 points and 8 rebounds by Ronald Yates of Fribourg.

SAM Massagno - Fribourg 82-101

There was no surprise when 9th ranked SAM Massagno (4-17) was crushed at home by first ranked Fribourg (18-3) 101-82 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Fribourg dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 34. They outrebounded SAM Massagno 41-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. SAM Massagno was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. American-Jamaican forward Ronald Yates (201-83, college: St.Peter's) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Fribourg's coach Damien Leyrolles used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Pete Campbell (201-84, college: Butler, agency: Warren Sports International) added 19 points respectively. Five Fribourg and four SAM Massagno players scored in double figures. Fribourg maintains first place with 18-3 record. SAM Massagno lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. Fribourg will face league's second-placed Geneve Lions at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SAM Massagno will play against Starwings (#7) in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Neuchatel (11-10) defeated at home 8th ranked BBC Nyon (4-17) 88-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Neuchatel. BBC Nyon was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was naturalized Senegalese forward Jules Aw (200-86) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Ray Reese (196-87, college: Tulsa) chipped in 20 points. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian forward Jean-Richard Volcy (203-82, college: N.Michigan) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Neuchatel maintains fifth place with 11-10 record. BBC Nyon at the other side keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Neuchatel will face higher ranked Lugano Tigers (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

But Lugano Tigers won third quarter 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Lugano Tigers used huge pressure winning it 18-11 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-13. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Andrej Stimac (204-79) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Kelvin Parker (183-82, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. Four Geneve Lions players scored in double figures. Geneve Lions' coach Ivan Rudez used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. BBC Monthey (LNA) signed 33-year old Nigerian ex-international guard Michael Efevberha (193-89kg-84, college: CS Northridge). He just played at Sagesse in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. In 15 games he had very impressive stats: 23.5ppg, 7.1rpg, 4.9apg and 1.5spg this season.
