Bulgaria complete the Semifinal picture of the 2015 EuroBasket Qualifying Round. Bulgaria won over Switzerland 73:65 and became the winner of Group B. Now the team will join Poland, Israel and Greece at the Semifinal stage.

Now the team will join Poland, Israel and Greece at the Semifinal stage. Bulgaria opened the game with a 16-10 lead and never looked behind after. They added 19-8 burst in the second quarter and had 35:18 lead at the halftime. Switzerland however had nothing to lose in the game and dominated the second half. They won the third period 21-18 and finished the game with 26-20 rally. Milena Tomova (189-F/C-82, college: FIU) stepped up with 27 points for the winners and Daniela Peteva (179-F-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had 19. Hristina Ivanova (183-F-89) and Evelina Guneva (183-F-80, agency: Interperformances) delivered 7 points each in a win. Caroline Turin (173-F-87) answered with 26 points in the losing effort and Marielle Giroud (180-F-87, college: Franklin Pierce) collected 12 points and 12 rebounds. Alexia Rol (175-F-89) also scored 12, while Karen Twehues (182-G-83, college: Cincinnati) brought 10.

Slovenia edged Switzerland for the initial win at the EuroBasket Women 2015 First Qualification Round. The Slovenian team won 84:76 and finished with 1-1 record. Switzerland will take on Bulgaria tomorrow in their last game.

Slovenia edged Switzerland for the initial win at the EuroBasket Women 2015 First Qualification Round. The Slovenian team won 84:76 and finished with 1-1 record. Teja Oblak (171-G-90) and Abramovic scored the last points for the winners and sealed the victory with Slovenia. Tina Trebec (189-C-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Teja Oblak netted 16. Ziva Zdolsek (178-G-89) poured in 15, while Sandra Pirsic (197-C-84) collected 11 points and 10 rebounds. Karen Twehues (182-G-83, college: Cincinnati) ended up with 21 points in defeat and Marielle Giroud had 16. Sarah Kershaw (180-SF-85) brought 13, while Alexia Rol (175-F-89) notched 12.
Riva Basket announced today that coach Fabrizio Rezzonico decided to not continue next season. The team already found his replacement in the name of Aldo Corno (agency: LBM Management ).
Coach Corno is not unknown in Riva as he coached there half of season 2008-09. He has a long experience and successfull in coaching both men and women, in Italy with the Italian national team, head coach from 1985 to 1991, from 1994 to 1995, from 1999 to 2004 [read more]
