An interesting game for Fribourg (11-3) which played road game in Geneve against 3rd placed Geneve Lions (9-4). Second ranked Fribourg had an easy win 68-50. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Geneve Lions. The game without a history. Fribourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American point guard Derek Wright (179-86, college: Austin Peay St.) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) contributed with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Marko Mladjan (205-93) answered with 17 points for Geneve Lions. Geneve Lions' coach Jean-Marc Jaumin rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fribourg have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-3 record having just one point less than leader Monthey. Geneve Lions at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. Fribourg are looking forward to face Swiss Central (#9) in Luzern in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Geneve Lions will play on the road against the league's leader Monthey (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Boncourt was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Neuchatel (9-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Boncourt (5-9). Neuchatel managed to secure a 6-point victory 86-80. It was a great evening for American power forward Juwann James (198-87, college: JMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Raimundas Danys helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Neuchatel have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 9-5 record. Boncourt lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Swiss Central. Neuchatel will play against Lausanne (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boncourt will play against Winterthur and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Basel was also quite interesting. Second ranked Monthey (11-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Starwings (8-6). Monthey defeated Starwings 72-56 on Sunday. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for Brandon Young who led the winners and scored 15 points and 4 assists. Chris Jones came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for Starwings in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Monthey. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Starwings keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Lugano Tigers. Monthey will meet at home Geneve Lions (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Starwings will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 15 Lugano Tigers beat Lausanne on the road 70-62. Massagno won against Swiss Central on its own court 82-67.

Geneve Lions - Fribourg 50-68

Lausanne - Lugano Tigers 62-70

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Lugano Tigers (8-6) beat on the road 10th ranked Lausanne (4-10) 70-62 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Lausanne won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lausanne 40-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Jules Aw (202-86) accounted for 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) came up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Lucas Pythoud (174-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lausanne in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Starwings. Lausanne lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Lugano Tigers will meet at home Massagno (#7) in the next round. Lausanne will play against Neuchatel and hope to secure a win.

Boncourt - Neuchatel 80-86

The game in Boncourt was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Neuchatel (9-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Boncourt (5-9). Neuchatel managed to secure a 6-point victory 86-80. It looked good early as Boncourt took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Neuchatel had a 23-19 second period charge getting the lead and Boncourt was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-86. Neuchatel made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Juwann James (198-87, college: JMU) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Lithuanian forward Raimundas Danys (198-85, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 18 points. The game in Basel was also quite interesting. Second ranked Monthey (11-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Starwings (8-6). Monthey defeated Starwings 72-56 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Monthey. Starwings managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 4 assists. Forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Starwings in the defeat. There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Swiss Central (5-9) lost on the road to ninth ranked Massagno (5-8) 82-67 on Sunday. Massagno made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC) who led the winners and scored 24 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-91) accounted for 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five Massagno players scored in double figures. Marco Lehmann (185-93) came up with 24 points and Serbian guard Nemanja Kovacevic (194-85) added 18 points respectively for Swiss Central in the defeat. Swiss Central's coach Danijel Eric tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Massagno moved-up to seventh place. Swiss Central lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Boncourt. Massagno will meet higher ranked Lugano Tigers (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Swiss Central will play against the league's second-placed Fribourg where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
