Colin Voss gets MVP of the Week award for Swiss LNA - Mar 7, 2017

Colin Voss
American Colin Voss (201-PF) had a very impressive game in the last round for Swiss Central and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The power forward had the game-high 27 points adding nine rebounds for Swiss Central in his team's victory, helping them to beat Lausanne (#10, 6-13) 68-58. Swiss Central maintains the 7th position in Swiss LNA. Swiss Central is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-10 record. Voss just recently signed at Swiss Central, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Colin Voss averages this season 11.8ppg and 5.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-C-91) of Massagno. Bergstedt impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Massagno to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Starwings (#6, 9-9) 87-59. This victory allowed Massagno to move up to 9th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-12 record. Bergstedt is a newcomer at Massagno and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Belgian forward Jonathan Dubas (204-F/C-91) of second-ranked Monthey. Dubas scored 18 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Dubas' great performance Monthey lost 84-90 to the lower-ranked Neuchatel (#5, 11-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Monthey needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 13 victories and 5 lost games. Dubas has a very solid season. In 18 games in Switzerland he scored 8.4ppg. Jonathan Dubas has also Swiss passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terrell Everett (193-G-84) of Lugano Tigers - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Warren Niles (196-G-89) of Massagno - 28 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Markel Humphrey (198-F-86) of Monthey - 24 points and 13 rebounds
7. Brian Savoy (189-SG-92) of Neuchatel - 24 points and 7 rebounds
8. Zoran Krstanovic (204-F/C-82) of Neuchatel - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Natan Jurkovitz (199-F-95) of Fribourg - 14 points and 7 rebounds
10. Tristan Carey (193-G-91) of Lugano Tigers - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
