LNB Round 19: BBC Nyon are upset by Pully - Mar 12, 2017

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNB.

The game between second ranked BBC Nyon (13-6) and fourth ranked Pully (13-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. BBC Nyon was crushed by Pully in Nyon 82-59. The game without a history. Pully led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Pully have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated BBC Nyon. Pully is looking forward to face Academie Fribourg (#7) at home in the next round. BBC Nyon will play against Villars (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Vevey delivered the sixteenth win. This time they beat bottom-ranked Lug.Tigers U23 (0-19) 77-65 in Lugano. Vevey (16-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Lug.Tigers U23 at the other side still closes the standings. Vevey will play against league's second-placed Meyrin Basket in Geneve in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lug.Tigers U23 will play on the road against GC Zurich (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Geneve. Local Meyrin Basket (14-5) outscored 7th ranked Academie Fribourg (5-15) 93-42 on Saturday night. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Meyrin Basket. They moved-up to second place. Academie Fribourg lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost. Meyrin Basket will meet league's leader Vevey on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academie Fribourg will play against Pully (#4) and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 19 GC Zurich was defeated by Villars in a road game 83-65.

Lug.Tigers U23 - Vevey 65-77

Leader Vevey delivered the sixteenth win. This time they beat bottom-ranked Lug.Tigers U23 (0-19) 77-65 in Lugano. The game was mostly controlled by Vevey. Lug.Tigers U23 was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vevey (16-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Lug.Tigers U23 at the other side still closes the standings. The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked GC Zurich's (5-14) road loss to fifth ranked Villars (10-8) 65-83 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 51-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Villars maintains fifth place with 10-8 record. Loser GC Zurich keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Villars will meet higher ranked BBC Nyon (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GC Zurich will play against Lug.Tigers U23 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Romain Gaspoz will be the new head coach of BC Boncourt. He will take over the team starting next season. The specialist has agreed on terms of 2+1 deal with the team.
