Here is the weekly review of the top performing Swiss players, who play currently abroad.

Clint Capela
Clint Capela
#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Clint Capela (208-94, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Houston Rockets' victory against the Denver Nuggets (33-36) 109-105 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Capela scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. The Houston Rockets have a solid 48-22 record this season. Capela has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.4ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 64.0%(293-458) and FT: 52.9% in 54 games he played so far. Capela played for the Swiss senior national team three years ago.

Thabo Sefolosha
Thabo Sefolosha
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international guard Thabo Sefolosha (201-84, currently plays in NBA). Sefolosha could not help the Atlanta Hawks (37-32) to beat the San Antonio Spurs (52-16). He scored 9 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 27 minutes. But the Atlanta Hawks (37-32) lost 99-107 on the road to the Spurs. It was Hawks' third consecutive loss in a row. Sefolosha has relatively good stats this year: 7.4ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.8apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 49.8%, 3FGP: 34.0% and FT: 75.4% in 56 games. He played for the Swiss national team in 2014.

Nicolas Dos Santos
Nicolas Dos Santos
#3. The Swiss player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Nicolas Dos Santos (200-87, currently plays in Portugal). Dos Santos managed to help Sport Lisboa Benfica to win against the fourth-ranked Oliveirense (19-7) 72-67 in the Portuguese LPB on Saturday night. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sport Lisboa Benfica (20-6) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. It's Dos Santos' first season with the team. Dos Santos' overall stats this year are: 3.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 3FGP: 8.3%. He is also a member of the Swiss senior national team.

Jonathan Shtarkman
Jonathan Shtarkman
#4. Point guard Jonathan Shtarkman (188-91, currently plays in Israel) was not able to help Hasharon in their game against Hapoel Afula (11-12) in the Israeli National League (second division). Shtarkman scored only 4 points in 12 minutes. Hasharon was crushed 87-64 in Afula by the lower-ranked (#9) Hapoel. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Shtarkman's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 3.0apg in 23 games. He has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Israeli. Shtarkman used to play for the Swiss university national team back in 2015.

The list of other players, who all have Swiss passport but never been selected to any of Swiss national teams:

#1. Marco Portannese (192-G-89, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in Verona's surprising victory against the leader Virtus Bologna (17-7) 113-105 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Sunday. He scored 22 points, had 7 boards, dished 9 assists and stole 3 balls. Tezenis Verona (13-11) is placed seventh in East group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Portannese's first season with the team. Portannese has relatively good stats this year: 11.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.1apg and 1.5spg. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Swiss. Despite Portannese's Swiss passport, he previously played for the Italian U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Swiss team.

#2. Alex Vaenerberg (183-G-92, currently plays in Finland) managed to help Helsinki Seagulls to win against the closely-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (15-18) 98-92 in the Finnish Korisliiga in Wednesday night's game. Vaenerberg scored only 4 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Helsinki Seagulls (24-9) is placed second in the Korisliiga. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Vaenerberg's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 5.3ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.0apg. Vaenerberg is another player who holds two passports: Swiss and Finnish.

#3. Robert Zinn (197-SG-95, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a 2-point Nuernberg's victory against the closely-ranked Baunach (9-19) 77-75 in the German ProA (second division) last Sunday. He scored 9 points in 19 minutes. Nuernberg Falcons BC (0-19) is placed 12th in the ProA. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Zinn's overall stats are: 3.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.7apg in 26 games he played so far. He has both German and Swiss nationalities. Despite Zinn's Swiss passport, he previously played for the German U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Swiss team.
