We bring you last week's top performances from Swiss players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Clint Capela
Clint Capela
#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Clint Capela (208-94, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Houston Rockets' victory against the Denver Nuggets (35-37) 109-105 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Capela scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. The Houston Rockets have a solid 50-22 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Capela has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.4ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 64.0%(311-486) and FT: 53.5% in 57 games he played so far. Capela played for the Swiss senior national team three years ago.

Thabo Sefolosha
Thabo Sefolosha
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international guard Thabo Sefolosha (201-84, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Atlanta Hawks (37-35) in their last game on Monday. Despite Sefolosha's good performance the Atlanta Hawks (37-35) were defeated 105-90 on the road by the Charlotte Hornets. He recorded 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Sefolosha has relatively good stats this season: 7.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.8apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 48.7%, 3FGP: 35.0% and FT: 73.3%. He played for the Swiss national team in 2014.

Jonathan Shtarkman
Jonathan Shtarkman
#3. The Swiss player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international point guard Jonathan Shtarkman (188-91, currently plays in Israel). He led Hasharon to a victory against the closely-ranked Maccabi Rehovot (14-10) 94-89 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Shtarkman scored 21 points. Ramat Hasharon (10-11) is placed fifth in the National League. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Shtarkman's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 10.0ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.9apg, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 74.4%. Shtarkman has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Israeli. Despite he played previously for the Israeli U20 national team, Shtarkman played also for the Swiss university national team in 2015.

Nicolas Dos Santos
Nicolas Dos Santos
#4. Power forward Nicolas Dos Santos (200-87, currently plays in Portugal) managed to help Sport Lisboa Benfica in a victory against the fourth-ranked Oliveirense (19-7) 72-67 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 12 minutes. Sport Lisboa Benfica (20-6) is placed second in Places 1-6 group. This year Dos Santos' overall stats are: 3.0ppg and 2.3rpg in 22 games. He is also Swiss national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Swiss passport but never been selected to any of Swiss national teams:

#1. Alex Vaenerberg (183-G-92, currently plays in Finland). Vaenerberg could not help one of league's weakest teams Helsinki Seagulls (24-11) to beat Salon Vilpas (27-8). He scored 5 points and added 3 passes in 17 minutes. Helsinki Seagulls lost 70-78 at home to the leading Salon Vilpas. It was Helsinki Seagulls' third consecutive loss in a row. Vaenerberg's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Vaenerberg's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 5.1ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.9apg in 34 games he played so far. Vaenerberg has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Finnish.

#2. Robert Zinn (197-SG-95, currently plays in Germany) contributed to Nuernberg's victory against the seventh-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (15-14) 79-66 in the German ProA (second division) on Saturday night. Zinn recorded 6 points. Nuernberg Falcons BC (0-19) is placed 12th in the ProA. The Regular Season already ended. Zinn's total stats this season are: 3.8ppg, 1.9rpg and 2.6apg. He is another player who holds two passports: German and Swiss. Despite Zinn's Swiss nationality, he previously played for the German U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Swiss team.

#3. Marco Portannese (192-G-89, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Verona in their game against Unieuro Forli (7-18) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Portannese recorded only 4 points in 16 minutes. The eighth-placed Verona (13-12) was edged 70-68 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#15) Unieuro Forli in the East group. It was Verona's first loss after three consecutive victories. This year Portannese has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg in 25 games. He has both Italian and Swiss nationalities.
