Chris Jones
American Chris Jones (188-G-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for Starwings and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Starwings in his team's victory, helping them to beat Neuchatel (#5, 13-8) 76-69. Thanks to this victory Starwings moved-up to the 6th position in Swiss LNA. Starwings is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 11th lost game this season out of 21 games. In the team's last game Jones had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Starwings' top player in his first season with the team. Angelo State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jones is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.7ppg), assists (9th best: 4.4apg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 56.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old Senegalese power forward Jules Aw (202-F/C-86) of second-ranked Lugano Tigers. Aw impressed basketball fans with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Of course Lugano Tigers cruised to a 85-76 relatively comfortable win over Geneve Lions (13-8). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Aw is well-known by Lugano Tigers fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Starwings' star - American Durell Vinson (201-F/C-85). Vinson showcased his all-around game by recording 12 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was another key player of Starwings, helping his team with a 76-69 win against Neuchatel (#5, 13-8). The chances of Starwings ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Vinson could help Starwings to bring them higher in the standings. Vinson has a great season in Switzerland. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.8rpg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Axel Louissaint (197-G/F-96) of Lugano Tigers - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Markel Humphrey (198-F-86) of Monthey - 17 points and 10 rebounds
6. Jordan Heath (208-F/C-91) of Monthey - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Chad Timberlake (194-G-84) of Geneve Lions - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Raimundas Danys (198-F-85) of Neuchatel - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Justin Roberson (186-PG-93) of Fribourg - 17 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Roberto Kovac (189-SG-90) of Geneve Lions - 23 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
