There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in LNA.

The most surprising game was a loss of Fribourg (19-4) in Basel on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Starwings (11-12) 74-72. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American power forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 22 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) helped adding 28 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was the former international Arnaud Cotture (203-95) with 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Starwings are looking forward to face Lugano Tigers (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fribourg will play against Neuchatel and is hoping to win this game.

Kelvin Parker accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Brian Savoy (189-92) came up with 13 points and 9 assists for Neuchatel in the defeat. Geneve Lions will play against Monthey on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neuchatel will play against Fribourg and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Swiss Central managed to escape with a 2-point win 101-99 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Nemanja Kovacevic who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Jarvis Williams who recorded 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swiss Central will meet Winterthur (#11) on the road in the next round. Boncourt will have a break next round.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Monthey. host Monthey (16-7) smashed Lugano Tigers (15-8) 80-52. It was a good game for Jordan Heath who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Monthey's next round opponent will be Geneve Lions (#4) at home. Lugano Tigers will play against Starwings and hope to win that game.

Neuchatel - Geneve Lions 74-78

Very significant was Geneve Lions' (#4) 78-74 road victory against Neuchatel in Places 1-6. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 19-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. Geneve Lions forced 19 Neuchatel turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Antonio Ballard (193-88, college: Miami, OH) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Kelvin Parker (184-82, college: NW Missouri St.) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Ballard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international Brian Savoy (189-92) came up with 13 points and 9 assists and American guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Neuchatel in the defeat. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Geneve Lions will play against Monthey on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neuchatel will play against Fribourg and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Monthey. host Monthey (16-7) smashed Lugano Tigers (15-8) 80-52. The game was mostly controlled by Monthey. Lugano Tigers was better in fourth quarter 20-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monthey dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Lugano Tigers' 26. They outrebounded Lugano Tigers 50-26 including a 41-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. The former international power forward Jonathan Dubas (204-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five Monthey players scored in double figures. American guard Terrell Everett (193-84, college: Oklahoma, agency: Diamond Sports) answered with 15 points and the other American import guard Tristan Carey (193-91, college: Longwood) added 10 points in the effort for Lugano Tigers. A very close game took place in Luzern between Swiss Central and Boncourt. Swiss Central (10-12) got a very close home victory over Boncourt (8-14). Swiss Central managed to escape with a 2-point win 101-99 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 29-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Swiss Central shot 64.3 percent from the field and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Nemanja Kovacevic (194-85) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 assists. Marco Lehmann (185-93) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jarvis Williams (198-89, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who recorded 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Winterthur - Lausanne 69-94

Rather expected game when Winterthur (2-20) was crushed at home by Lausanne (8-13) 94-69. It looked good early as Winterthur took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lausanne took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 25 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jordan Loveridge (198-93, college: Utah) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jordan Downing (196-92, college: Presbyterian) answered with 19 points and naturalized Portuguese forward Kevin Monteiro (196-94) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Winterthur. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lausanne's next round opponent will be Massagno (#10) at home. Winterthur will play against Massagno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
