The Regular Season in LNA just started. There was no lack of interesting games this round.

The most important game of round 1 took place in Monthey where Monthey crushed Boncourt (0-1) 89-70 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Monthey outrebounded Boncourt 29-18 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: 3Eye) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Jonathan Kazadi (193-91) chipped in 18 points. Monthey's coach Branko Milisavljevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: Loyola Mary) responded with 25 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Boncourt will play next round against Neuchatel trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Monthey will try to continue on its current victory against Swiss Central in Luzern.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Pully (0-1) in Lugano. Visitors were defeated by Massagno (1-0) 78-63. American point guard Justin Roberson (186-93, college: La-Monroe) nailed 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Keon Moore accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. Jamaican forward Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for Pully in the defeat. Massagno will play against Winterthur (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pully will have a break next round.
Quite upsetting was Neuchatel's home defeat in a game versus Fribourg 87-78. Murphy Burnatowski fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Andre Williamson produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Fribourg will meet at home Starwings (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Neuchatel will play against Boncourt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Basel where Lugano Tigers (0-1) were upset on the court of Starwings (1-0) 81-76. Worth to mention a great performance of A.J. Hess who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Starwings' next round opponent will be Fribourg on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lugano Tigers will play against Swiss Central (#12) and hope to win that game.
Swiss Central (0-1) was outscored at home by Geneve Lions (1-0) with the biggest margin this round 86-61 on Sunday night. Marquis Addison stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 assists for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Geneve Lions will face Lakers (#3) in Vevey in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Swiss Central will play on the road against Lugano Tigers (#9) and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 1 Winterthur lost to Lakers on the opponent's court 67-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by Eric Thompson of Swiss Central.

Massagno - Pully 78-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Pully (0-1) in Lugano. Visitors were defeated by Massagno (1-0) 78-63. The game was mostly controlled by Massagno. Swiss Central - Geneve Lions 61-86

Swiss Central (0-1) was outscored at home by Geneve Lions (1-0) with the biggest margin this round 86-61 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Geneve Lions. Swiss Central was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Geneve Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Swiss Central's 34. Geneve Lions forced 23 Swiss Central turnovers. American guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) stepped up and scored 21 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international Roberto Kovac (189-90) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side American center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Marco Lehmann (186-93) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Quite upsetting was Neuchatel's home defeat in a game versus Fribourg 87-78. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neuchatel won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fribourg won last quarter 23-15. Fribourg outrebounded Neuchatel 38-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. Canadian Murphy Burnatowski (200-90, college: Colgate) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Andre Williamson (202-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Spencer Parker (201-93, college: Bowling Green, agency: Inception Sports) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fribourg will meet at home Starwings (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Starwings - Lugano Tigers 81-76

An interesting game took place in Basel where Lugano Tigers (0-1) were upset on the court of Starwings (1-0) 81-76. It looked good early as Lugano Tigers took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Starwings had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and Lugano Tigers were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Armenian swingman A.J. Hess (201-94, college: S.Dakota St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Starwings players scored in double figures. American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Tristan Carey (193-91, college: Longwood) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lugano Tigers. Starwings' next round opponent will be Fribourg on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lugano Tigers will play against Swiss Central (#12) and hope to win that game.
