Tomezzoli
Swingman Cinzia Tomezzoli (175-G/F-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Winterthur and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 29-year old swingman had a double-double of 28 points and fourteen rebounds, while her team beat Riva (#7, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 79-68. Thanks to this victory Winterthur moved-up to the 8th position in Swiss SBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Winterthur won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Tomezzoli has many years of experience at Winterthur, through which she has constantly improved. Tomezzoli has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 28.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 14.0rpg), assists (5th best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 5.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American forward Elan Brown (183-F-91) of Riva. Brown impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Riva lost that game 68-79 to Winterthur (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Brown is a newcomer at Riva and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#3). She also registered 18.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Riva's star - American Kelly Moten (173-G-93). Moten showcased her all-around game by recording 29 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Moten's great performance Riva lost 68-79 to Winterthur (#8, 1-0). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Riva can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. The season just started for Moten as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Khadijiah Cave (190-C-95) of Pully - 20 points and 16 rebounds
5. Marielle Giroud (181-F/C-87) of Fribourg - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Noemie Mayombo (170-PG-91) of Fribourg - 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Paulina Koerner (175-G-96) of Winterthur - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Nancy Fora (176-G-97) of Fribourg - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Abigail Fogg (196-C-94) of BBC Troist. - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Chanise Jenkins (165-PG-92) of BBC Troist. - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
