Karsiyaka shocked Fenerbahce Ulker in Round 6 opener celebrating 76-88 victory. The game was played at the Fener's home court, but visitors shined last night celebrating valuable victory. Ryan Toolson (193-G-85, college: Utah Valley St.) was on fire for the guests scoring 29 points (5 triples). Andre Smith (203-F-85, college: N.Dakota St.) had 22 points and 7 rebounds, while David Holston (173-G-86, college: Chicago St.) added 16 pts and 9 assists. In the loosing squad, Omer Asik (211-C-86) collected 16 points and 7 rebounds. Omer Onan (194-G-78) had 12 and Emir Preldzic (206-F-87, agency: Beo Basket) scored 11 pts. Both teams had 3-2 before this game. It was a very exciting match. Both teams were on fire at the beginning, but still it was Karsiyaka who held 23-27 lead after ten minutes of play. In the second quarter visitors totally took control on Fener. Ryan Toolson and his teammates intensified defense, but remained high-productive on the other side of the court. That resulted with impressive 10-27 in the second frame for 21-point lead at the half time. Fenerbahce Ulker players finally woke up. They stepped on the court after the breather with totally different attitude and smashed Karsiyaka with huge 26-6 in third period. When it seemed that Fener is on the right track to victory, visitors shined one again having excellent last ten minutes. Thanks to Ryan Toolson and Andre Smith, Karsiyaka managed to finish the last period with 17-28 and to grab fantastic win in Istanbul. Galatasaray SK Vice president and the head of the basketball aoperations Yigit Sardan resigned.This was quite likely and wasn't a surprise to anyone.The reason of my resignition is quite obvious said Mr.Sardan on his press release.This is because of the latest event.As a head of the basketball operations,if i knew this before it was revealed i would declare it my self.Being not infomed doesnt clear me off from my duties said Mr. Sardan and once again apoligized from the fans and public [read more]

When you open the papers sport pages today rather than players having swine flu first thing you will see is the scandal on TBL caused by turkey's most supported team galatasary's basketball side GS cafe crown.GS CC player Cemal Nalga (208-C-87) who has been suspended 5 games for punching his opponent during a pre-seosen game in croatia said -he did what he was told and had no other choice- on playing with his team mates (Tufan Ersoz (198-F/G-80, agency: 1x1 Sports)) jersey, who was sidelined due to ilness.
-We were just awared of the situation, immediately took an action and did what we had to do and fired all the staff. There is nothing more we can do and ready to face to consequences - said 2.president of the club mr.helvaci. who seemed extreamly said and dissappointed. He said they were deeply sorry and he apoligized from their fans and entire community. When he was asked what the consequences he was ready to face, he said- i dont think it would go that far- (meaning suspending from the league).-it was an individual act after all and by firing all the staff right after we learned we showed our attitude said mr. helvaci. İt is time to wait if this atitude would be enough to ramain in the league.
Now everbody is waiting to hear TBL boards decision on this.nobody is expecting any suspension for the team but quite heavy sanctions like defaulted on previous games and even deducting extra points which would cause team much more problem in the future and individual suspensions on the people who are involved in this...
