We bring you last week''s top performances from Turks who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week''s number one is an international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87). He led Milwaukee Bucks to a victory over the Toronto Raptors (15-30) 105-99 in the NBA in Sunday night''s game. Ilyasova was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 12 rebounds in 44 minutes on the court. The Milwaukee Bucks have 20-24 record this season. It was his team''s fifth consecutive victory in a row. It''s Ilyasova''s first year with the team. Ilyasova has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 12.4ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 48.7%, 3FGP: 42.0% and FT: 81.1% in the 42 games he played so far. Ex-Yesilyurt Istanbul player is currently a member of the Turkish senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international forward Hidayet Turkoglu (206-79), who plays in the NBA. Turkoglu could not help the Orlando Magic (29-16) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Orlando Magic was defeated 122-111 on the road by the San Antonio Spurs. Turkoglu scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. This season Turkoglu has very high stats. He averages: 11.2ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.7apg, 2FGP: 45.1%, 3FGP: 35.5% and FT: 70.6%. Turkoglu is in the roster of the Turkish senior national team.

Omer Asik

   #3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Omer Asik (213-86). He managed to help Chicago Bulls in a victory against the Utah Jazz (22-22) 111-97 in the NBA on Saturday night. Asik recorded only 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks in 33 minutes. The Chicago Bulls have a very solid 37-10 record this season. This year Asik''s overall stats are: 3.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 52.6% and FT: 45.2% in the 46 games. He is also a member of the Turkish senior national team.

   #4. Center Dusan Cantekin (222-90, agency: Beo Basket), who plays in the Serbian A League was not able to help Mega Vizura (17-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Cantekin''s good performance Mega Vizura was edged 89-87 at home by the second-ranked BKK Radnicki. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Cantekin also added 6 blocks. The Regular Season already ended. Cantekin is currently fourth on the league''s list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). He has very reliable stats this season: 11.9ppg, 7.7rpg and 1.1bpg. Cantekin used to play for the Turkish U20 national team back in 2010.

   #5. International center Enes Kanter (208-92, college: Kentucky) contributed to an overtime Utah Jazz''s victory against the Golden State Warriors (18-24) 99-92 in the NBA last Saturday. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 20 minutes. The Utah Jazz has 22-22 record this season. It''s Kanter''s first year with the team. This year Kanter''s total stats are: 4.6ppg and 4.8rpg in the 44 games. He plays currently for the Turkish national team.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Turkish passport:

   #1. Baris Aktas (193-F-91), who plays in the Romanian Division A could not help CS Dinamo Bucuresti (7-18) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Aktas'' very good performance CS Dinamo Bucuresti was badly defeated 112-92 on the road by the higher-ranked CSU Sibiu (#9). He was the second best scorer with 23 points. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Aktas has averaged so far 6.1ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. He has a dual citizenship: Turkish and Romanian. Despite Aktas'' Turkish passport, he currently plays for the Romanian U20 national team and is not eligible to play for the Turkish team.

He played most recently at Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket in Turkish BSL league. In 9 games he averaged 7.8ppg and 5.3rpg last season. Murphy also played at Besiktas (BSL) in Turkey that season. Usak Sportlif Basketbol (BSL) landed 26-year old guard Gorkem Sonmez (195-90, college: Radford, agency: 1x1 Sports). He played most recently at Royal Hali (BSL), but left. But in only one game he did not score anything. Sonmez also played 3 games in FIBA Europe Cup but he did not score anything and had only 4 rebounds. Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul (BSL) is close to sign 27-year old American shooting guard James Anderson (198-97kg-89, college: Oklahoma State) who played last time at Sacramento Kings in NBA. In 51 games he recorded 3.5ppg and 1.7rpg last season. The previous (14-15) season Anderson played at Zalgiris (LKL) in Lithuanian league. In 34 games he averaged 13.1ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg.
