Fenerbahce - Galatasaray 98-93

Second game of TKBL Finals just ended. Fenerbahce was better than Galatasaray once again 98-83 taking 2-0 lead in the series. The format is best-of-five, so Fener is only one win away from the title. However, Galatasaray will be the host in next meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday. If necessary, Game Four will also be played at the Galata's home court. Galatasaray was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Fenerbahce shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Galatasaray only scored six points from the stripe. Fenerbahce had a 27-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Cappie Pondexter (175-83, college: Rutgers) scored 29 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Angel McCoughtry (185-86, college: Louisville) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Italian-American swingman Diana Taurasi (182-82, college: Connecticut) responded with 25 points and 9 assists and American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fenerbahce is the defending champion. Actually, they won last seven titles in Turkey.
