Turkey finished on a high note at the international tournament in Karlovy Vary. They defeated the previously unbeaten Hungary to improve at 1-2 record. Hungary fell at 2-1 record but still occupied the top position in the ladder. Nevin Nevlin (195-C-85, college: Stanford) came up with 22 points to lead Turkey. Hungary led by a single point at the first break 16:15. They maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Hungary ensured a 35:34 halftime lead. Hungary stayed in front in the third period. They entered the final quarter up by two points 51:49. Turkey however snatched the victory scoring several key baskets late in regulation. Isil Alben (170-G-86) produced 12 points, while Nevriye Yilmaz (194-C-80) had 9 points for the winners. Krisztina Raksanyi (180-G-91) replied with 12 points for Hungary. Orsolya Szecsi (190-G/F-92) chipped in 10 points in the loss.
