Nezih Ozbakir (206-F/C-80) signed a 1-year contract extension with his team Optimum TED Kolejliler, according to Salsabasket. It will be their third straight season together. In the latest one Ozbakir had 10.6 ppg and 4.7 rpg for 38 games. They won TB2L title and promotion for TBL. Ozbakir was awarded with Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TB2L Honorable Mention -12. A year ago, Optimum TED Kolejliler was TB2L Group B champion. Ozbakir averaged 9 points and 4.5 rebounds for 26 games. In 2009, Nezih Ozbakir won his first TB2L title with Optimum TED. He played for them from 2003 to 2008. In the meantime, Ozbakir spent two years with Tofas Bursa. Last week, Optimum TED Kolejliler signed Ben Woodside (180-PG-85, agency: Priority Sports, college: N.Dakota St.), Caner Erdeniz (188-G-87) and Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-F-90). The team also landed scoring machine Kirk Penney (196-G-80, agency: Duran International, college: Wisconsin).

Turkey confidently started their 2013 Mediterranean Games campaign. The hosts shot down Algeria in the opener. Melih Mahmutoglu (193-G-90) delivered 17 points to lead the home side.

Boniface Ndong (213-C-77) announced retirement. The Senegalese player spent his last season with Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul and won the title.
Few days ago Boniface Ndong won the title with Galatasaray as the latter triumphed at 2012/2013 season as they won the Final series against Banvit 4-1. Galatasaray added 76:58 win in Game 4 and became the Champions.

The former international guard Serkan Erdogan produced 11 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Vladimir Stimac added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Boniface Ndong averaged 8.8 points in the Turkish League in his last season.
