17-time NBA Champion Boston Celtics visited Istanbul for their preseason opening game and were surprisingly defeated by Fenerbahce Ulker. Fener lead the biggest part of te game and managed to keep the advantage until the final buzzer 97-91. Romain Sato (194-G/F-81, college: Xavier) was the top scorer for Ulker with 24 points, rising star Bo McCalebb (178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) added 21.

After a series of mutuals baskets in the first period, Fenerbahce's Ilkan Karaman and Bo McCalebb (178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) initiated a 11-2 run, taking to score to 20-10 for the home team. After that, Rajon Rondo (185-PG-86, college: Kentucky) and Jeff Green (206-F-86, college: Georgetown) stepped up for the Celtics, resulting in a 26-27 for the NBA-team.

In the beginning of the second quarter Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) hit two shots from downtown to take Fener back in the lead again. Romain Sato (194-G/F-81, college: Xavier) made the most of Celtic turnovers and took the score to 43-37. Oguz Savas (212-C-87) converted yet another turnover to a basket to give Ulker a double digit lead at halftime: 55-45.

Jason Terry (188-PG-77, college: Arizona) was effective for the Celtics in the third period, but Bo McCalebb (178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) prevented Boston from closing the gap, taking the score to 63-55 after five minutes in the quarter. Another big shot by Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) gave Fenerbahce a 79-72 lead at the end of the period.

The fourth period started with a basket by Boston's Jared Sullinger's, but Romain Sato (194-G/F-81, college: Xavier) replied with a three pointer. Boston Celtic pushed to close the gap, but Bo McCalebb's (178-PG-85, college: New Orleans basket regained the 7-point advantage for Fenerbahce. Ulker's defence closed ranks, and another three point basket by Sato made an end to all Celtic hopes: 97-91.

Sakarya BSB - Tofas 59-74 Tofas knocked down Sakarya BSB to sweep the semifinal series. It looked good early as Sakarya BSB took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Tofas had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Sakarya BSB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-74. Fener.Ulker - Galatasaray 80-55 Fenerbahce cruised past Galatasaray to open 2-0 lead in the semifinal series. Serbian swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points.
