Davenport comes back to Istanbul Universitesi - Nov 11, 2012

Istanbul Universitesi SK (TKBL) inked 27-year old American center Jessica Davenport (196-98kg-85, college: Ohio State). Its actually her comeback to Istanbul Universitesi as she played here before. She managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). Davenport played in the summer at Indiana Fever (WNBA). In 41 games she recorded 6.2ppg and 3.2rpg. She also played at Vologda-Chevakata in Russian league that season. In 6 Eurocup games last season she averaged 9.3ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.2spg. Davenport also played 15 games in Russian PBL where she averaged 13.8ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.1apg. A very good season in her career as she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Russian PBL Honorable Mention. The other team she played shortly was Istanbul Universitesi.
In 2007 San Antonio Silver Stars selected her as second overall pick in WNBA draft.
She attended Ohio State and it will be her sixth season in pro basketball.
Davenport received Eurobasket.com All-Russian Superleague Defensive Player of the Year award in 2011. She represented USA at the World University Games in Izmir seven years ago.
Davenport has played also professionally in France (Challes-les-Eaux), WNBA (New York Liberty) and Turkey (Tarsus Bld).

Ceyhan Belediyespor keep Carolyn Swords (198-C-89, agency: LBM Management, college: Boston Coll.) for the next season. The American player will come back to Turkey after a WNBA season. Carolyn Swords signed a deal with Ceyhan Belediyesi last year. She currently plays in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky. Swords split 2011 season between Spain and Turkey.
