American Alex Gordon (184-G-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Yesilgiresun and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com TB2L Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 34 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Yesilgiresun in his team's victory, helping them to crush Gelisim (#9, 3-3) with 18-point margin 82-64. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on the top of the standings. Yesilgiresun maintains the 16th position in Turkish TB2L. Yesilgiresun is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game Gordon had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Yesilgiresun's top player in his first season with the team. Vanderbilt University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Gordon is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Gordon is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 5.5apg) and averages solid 2.2spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American power forward Raymond Sykes (206-F/C-86, agency: Three Eye Sports) of Bandirma Kir.. Sykes impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Bandirma Kir. lost that game 74-91 to the higher-ranked Darussafaka (#1, 5-1). This loss caused Bandirma Kir. to drop to 15th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Sykes is a newcomer at Bandirma Kir. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#7). He also registered 8.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was FYR Macedonian Cedi Osman (195-SG-95) of Pertevniyal (#8). Osman scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Pertevniyal, leading his team to a 90-71 easy win against the lower-ranked Istanbul B.B. (3-3). Pertevniyal needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Osman has a very solid season. In 6 games in Turkey he scored 16.0ppg. Cedi Osman has also Turkish passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Marcus Hall (185-G-85) of Darussafaka - 31 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Henry Antwan Dobie (183-G-78) of Trabzonspor - 22 points and 10 assists
6. Tyrone Nelson (206-F-85) of Akhisar Bld - 21 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jurica Zuza (207-C-78) of Trabzonspor - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Pervis Pasco (206-F/C-81) of Balikesir - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Antabia Waller (188-G-88) of Vestel - 27 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Orbay Kaya (205-F/C-82) of Maliye Milli - 18 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Mike Davis agreed terms with Socar Petkim - 2 hours ago
Socar Petkimspor (TBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American forward Mike Davis (205-102kg-88, college: Illinois, agency: Octagon Europe). He started the season at Westchester Knicks (D-League) in the U.S. In 24 games he recorded 4.1ppg and 2.9rpg this season. The last season Davis played at Balikesir where in 42 TBL games he averaged 14.2ppg, 9.7rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to make it to the final. BSL Round 19: Anadolu Efes edge Usak Sportlif by two points - 1 day ago
The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Fourteenth-ranked Usak Sportlif (5-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Anadolu Efes (17-2) on Monday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Anadolu Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, col...   [read more]
