K.C. Rivers
Fenerbahce Ulker suffered a painfull loss against BC Khimki Moscow and dropped to 3-3 in Group A of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. In a thrilling finish, K.C. Rivers (196-G-87, college: Clemson) buzzer-beating shot secured a 71-70 win for the Russian hosts. David Andersen (212-C-80) led Ulker with 17 points, Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) and Baris Ermis (194-G-85) each added 11.

Romain Sato (194-G/F-81, college: Xavier) opened the score for Fenerbahce in the first period, but Koponen and Kresimir answered for Khimki to take a 5-2 lead. Bogdanovic evened the score to 7-7 after 5 minutes, and after a series of mutual baskets a lay up by Oguz Savas (212-C-87) gave Fenerbahce a 17-18 lead after 10 minutes.

Vitaly Fridzon started the second period with a triple for Khimki. Bogdanovic tied the game at 20-20, but Fenerbahce failed to score after that and allowed the hosts a 11-0 run: 31-20 after 16 minutes. At the tea time buzzer Khimki still had a double digit advantage: 39-29.

A triple by Sato initiated Feners comeback in the third quarter. Bogdanovic added 5 points to make it 39-37 after 24 minutes. Khimki finally answered with a basket by Planinic and increased the gap to 9 points again. Baris Ermis scored 7 points for Ulker with baskets from Andersen and Preldzic in between to take Fenerbahce to 54-51. A layup by Khinkis Nielsen made it 56-51 after the third quarter.

Emir Preldzic (205-SF-87, agency: Beo Basket) scored a fastbreak layup at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and Batiste added a basket-plus-foul to make it 57-56. Ermis and Onan tied the game at 60-60 after 35 minutes. With little over a minute to go, a three point shot by Omer Onan (194-G-78) gave Fenerbahce a 67-68 lead. Free throws made it 69-68 for Khimki, but Andersens basket put Ulker back in the lead again with 55 seconds to go: 69-70. Loncar and Anderson missed after that, and with 9 seconds to go the hosts still had to cross the full length of the floor. Monya missed a three-pointer, but K.C. Rivers
(196-G-87, college: Clemson) grabbed the rebound and fired the game winning shot in the buzzer: 71-70.

Fenerbahce will face Union Olimpija at home next week, and will have to get back on the winning track to keep the Final 16 dreams alive.
