Knox's 20 points and 8 rebounds give him TB2L Player of the Week award - Nov 19, 2012

Lea Jagodic
23-year old forward Justin Knox (205-F-89) put on an amazing game in the last round for Vestel and receives a Eurobasket.com TB2L Player of the Week award for round 7.
He had the game-high 20 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Vestel in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Pertevniyal (#10, 3-4) with 27-point margin 83-56. Vestel is placed at 4th position in Turkish TB2L. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Vestel will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. Knox turned to be Vestel's top player in his first season with the team. University of North Carolina graduate has very impressive stats this year. Knox is in league's top in points (9th best: 17.4ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.7rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 64.0% FGP. Worth to mention Knox played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Marshall Moses (198-F-89) of Final Genclik. He is American forward in his first season at Final Genclik. In the last game Moses recorded impressive double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he lead Final Genclik to another comfortable win outscoring Izmir BSB (#18, 0-7) 85-56. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Final Genclik managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Moses is a newcomer at Final Genclik and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Raymond Sykes (206-F/C-86, agency: Three Eye Sports) of Bandirma Kir. (#15). Sykes scored 15 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). Despite Sykes' great performance Bandirma Kir. lost 57-61 to slightly lower-ranked Baskent Genclik (#17, 1-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Bandirma Kir. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Sykes he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Sykes has individually a great season in Turkey. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. KZell Wesson (201-F-77) of Baskent Genclik - 15 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Nikolay Pastal (202-F-83) of Istanbul B.B. - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Kervin Bristol (208-F-88) of Istanbulspor - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Emre Ozpulat (200-F-82) of Akhisar Bld - 22 points and 5 rebounds
8. Pervis Pasco (206-F/C-81) of Balikesir - 10 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Michael Porrini (187-G-89) of Gelisim - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Zach Graham (198-G-89) of Maliye Milli - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Alp
Artvin inks Mufit Can Alp - 6 hours ago
Artvin Belediye (TB2L) signed 26-year old Mufit Can Alp (91). He played last season at Final Genclik (TBL). In 8 games he had 3.5ppg and 1.0rpg. TB2L will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. The previous (15-16) season Alp played at Adanaspor (also in TBL). TBL was a little too high level for him, where in 5 games he recorded just 0.8ppg. He has played previously for three other teams: Elazig, Bursaspor and Sanliurfaspor.
