It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in TBL, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders.

Mersin can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Hacettepe (2-4)on the road game in Ankara 76-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Hacettepe helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 20 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Courtney Eldridge (176-80, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded 15 points and 6 assists. Hacettepe's coach Alp Bayramoglu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mersin (1-5) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Antalya and Gaziantep. Hacettepe at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Mersin is looking forward to face league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hacettepe will play on the road against Besiktas (#7) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Undefeated leader Galatasaray delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked TED Kolejliler (3-3) 90-66 in Istanbul. It was a good game for the former international swingman Cenk Akyol (198-87) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. Milan Macvan contributed with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. New Zealand guard Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) replied with 18 points for TED Kolejliler. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Galatasaray (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted TED Kolejliler dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Besiktas and Aliaga. Galatasaray will play against bottom-ranked Mersin (#16) in Akdeniz in the next round which should be another easy win for them. TED Kolejliler will play at home against Antalya (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Antalya between Erdemir and Antalya. Thirteenth ranked Erdemir (2-4) got a very close victory on the road over 14th ranked Antalya (1-5). They keep the fourteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Gaziantep and Mersin. Erdemir will meet at home higher ranked Aliaga (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Antalya will play against TED Kolejliler (#8) in Ankara.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Ankara. Local Turk Telekom (2-4) was outscored by fifth ranked Anadolu Efes (5-1) 96-57. Dusko Savanovic notched 16 points and 5 assists to lead the effort. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anadolu Efes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Anadolu Efes' next round opponent will be Olin Edirne (#13) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#4) in Istanbul.

Gaziantep - Karsiyaka 74-87

Very predictable result when third ranked Karsiyaka (5-1) beat on the road 15th ranked Gaziantep (1-5) 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. Gaziantep was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) notched 22 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Evren Buker (194-85) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Karsiyaka's coach Ufuk Sarica allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-85, college: Mississippi St.) did not help to save the game for Gaziantep. His fellow American import guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Karsiyaka moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Gaziantep dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Karsiyaka's next round opponent will be Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir. Gaziantep will play on the road against Tofas (#11) in Bursa.

Galatasaray - TED Kolejliler 90-66

Undefeated leader Galatasaray delivered the sixth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked TED Kolejliler (3-3) 90-66 in Istanbul. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. TED Kolejliler was better in second period 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international swingman Cenk Akyol (198-87) who led his team to a victory with 23 points.
