American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-F-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Akhisar Bld, receiving a Eurobasket.com TB2L Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Istanbul B.B. (#13, 3-5) 90-75. Akhisar Bld is placed at 5th position in Turkish TB2L. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Akhisar Bld will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. Nelson has many years of experience at Akhisar Bld, through which he has constantly improved. Former New Mexico State University star has very solid stats this year. Nelson is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.6rpg) and averages impressive 2.3spg and 64.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old American Alex Gordon (184-G-85) of Yesilgiresun. Gordon had a very good evening with a double-double of 31 points and 13 assists. Of course Yesilgiresun cruised to a 84-74 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Vestel (#8, 5-3). This victory allowed Yesilgiresun to move up to 9th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Gordon is a newcomer at Yesilgiresun, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.4ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.6rpg and 6.5apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward KZell Wesson (201-F-77) of Baskent Genclik (#17). Wesson showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, eighteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Wesson's great performance Baskent Genclik lost 81-90 to the higher-ranked Trabzonspor (#7, 5-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Baskent Genclik can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Wesson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Wesson has a very solid season. In 2 games in Turkey he scored 19.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Hakan Yapar (202-C-84) of Maliye Milli - 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Anthony Brown (203-F-86) of Pertevniyal - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Henry Antwan Dobie (183-G-78) of Trabzonspor - 31 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Bill Clark (195-SF-88) of Selcuk Univ. - 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists
8. John Ofoegbu (206-C-84) of Yesilgiresun - 23 points and 13 rebounds
9. Eric Buckner (208-F-90) of Usak - 18 points and 9 rebounds
10. Aleksandar Petrovic (204-C-87) of Darussafaka - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
