Fenerbahce Ulker kept the Euroleague dreams alive by defeating Union Olimpija Ljubljana with 85-68. Fener took control in the first period and held a firm grasp on their opponent in the rest of the match. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) was the top scorer for Ulker with 19 points, Bo McCalebb (178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) added 13, Omer Onan (194-G-78) 12 and Emir Preldzic (205-SF-87, agency: Beo Basket) 11.

Olimpija took the lead in the beginning of the first period, but a red hot Bojan Bogdanovic
(203-SG-89) scored 11 points in a row to give Fenerbahce a 11-7 advantage after 6 minutes. Steals by Romain Sato and Mike Batiste increased the lead to 15-7, and in the final minute of the period Bo McCalebbs 178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) layup made it a double digit game: 22-12.

Mike Batiste opened the score in the second quarter, followed by a layup by McCalebb: 26-12. Olimpija regrouped , but Fener kept scoring as well and increased the gap to 18 points after 18 minutes: 40-22. Ulker went to the locker room with a 43-26 comfortable advantage.

Olimpija looked to turn things around in the third quarter and scored a pair of baskets, but McCalebb and Bogdanovic answered accordingly. The guests closed the gap to 13 points in the 27th minute, but Fenerbahce drew the line there. A big slam dunk and a reverse layup by Ilkan Karaman underlined Ulkers dominance and had the hosts going into the final 10 minutes with a 64-48 lead.

Dylan Page, who scored 23 points for Olimpija, opend the fourth quarter with a triple. Omer Onan
(194-G-78) responded with a triple for Fener, and a basket by Karaman increased the gap to 20 points after 34 minutes: 74-54. Bo McCalebb 178-PG-85, college: New Orleans) made it 83-56 after 38 minutes, and Fenerbahce cruised to the victory after that, allowing the guests a series of free throws but finishing with a clear 85-68 win.

Fenerbahce is ranked third in group A after the victory, and will travel to Madrid next week for the all important game against Real, who will battle Khimki for the first place in group A today.

The newcomer of Turkish Basketball League, Demir Insaat Buyukcekmece Basket achieved great things at their first season.
