Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Turks who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Omer Asik (213-86, currently plays in NBA). He led Houston Rockets to an easy victory against the New York Knicks (8-3) crushing them 131-103 in the NBA in Friday night's game. Asik had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 30 minutes on the court. The Houston Rockets have 6-7 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Asik's first year with the team. Asik has relatively good stats this season: 10.2ppg, 11.9rpg, 1.2apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 44.4% and FT: 62.1% in the 13 games he played so far. He played for the Turkish senior national team one years ago.

Ersan Ilyasova
   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87, currently plays in NBA). Ilyasova contributed to a Milwaukee Bucks' victory against the New Orleans Hornets (3-8) 117-113 in the NBA last Saturday. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks have 6-5 record this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Ilyasova averages: 6.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 34.8%, 3FGP: 22.7% and FT: 42.9%. He played for the Turkish national team in 2011.

   #3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Enes Kanter (208-92, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Kanter could not help the Utah Jazz (7-7) to beat the Sacramento Kings (4-9). He recorded 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only 14 minutes. But the Utah Jazz lost 97-108 on the road to the Kings. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Kanter's overall stats are: 4.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 2FGP: 51.8% in the 14 games. He is also a member of the Turkish senior national team.

   #4. Forward Deniz Kilicli (206-90, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the W.Virginia in their last game. Despite Kilicli's good performance the W.Virginia was edged 63-60 in Davidson, NC by the Davidson College. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds in 28 minutes. Kilicli has been at the team for five years. This season Kilicli averages only 1.0ppg in the four games. He used to play for the Turkish U20 national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Turkish passport but never been selected to any of Turkish national teams:

   #1. Erkan Inan (192-G-89, currently plays in Sweden) contributed to a 08 Stockholm's victory against one of league's weakest teams KFUM Jamtland (3-10) 79-75 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Inan recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. 08 Stockholm (7-5) is placed sixth in the Basketligan. This season Inan has relatively solid stats: 13.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.5apg and 1.3spg.

   #2. Serkan Inan (198-G-86, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan could not help White Eagles (4-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance White Eagles lost 50-61 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Norrkoping Dolphins. Inan was the top scorer with 14 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. This year Inan has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.8spg in the 10 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Turkish and Swedish.

   #3. Kevin Kaspar (183-G-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped W.Kentucky win their game against the De Paul University 70-61 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Kaspar recorded 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The Western Kentucky University has conference record this season. This year Kaspar has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.8spg.

   #4. Mertcan Cantuerk (185-G-91, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (3-5) in their game against BSW Sixers (5-4) in the German ProB (third division). He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. The eighth-placed Herzoege Wolfenbuettel lost 70-76 in Sandersdorf to the higher-ranked (#4) BSW Sixers in the Group North. This year Cantuerk's total stats are: 3.3ppg, 1.5rpg and 1.3apg in the four games. He is another player who holds two passports: Turkish and German.

   #5. Ugur Kulhan (189-G-91, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Licher Basket Baeren to win against the 12th-ranked TSV Troester (0-8) 82-67 in the German ProB (third division) last Saturday. Kulhan scored only 4 points. Licher Basket Baeren (5-3) is placed fourth in Group South. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Kulhan averages just 1.0ppg. He has both Turkish and German nationalities.

BSL Round 23: Top-ranked Fenerbahce wins another game - 9 hours ago
BSL top team - Fenerbahce (21-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Balikesir (5-18) 79-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Balikesir. Fenerbahce forced 21 Balikesir turnovers. Strangely Balikesir outrebounded Fenerbahce 31-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. Point guard Berk Ugurlu (191-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 6 assists. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) contributed with 8 points...   [read more]

Darussafaka keeps Wilbekin until 2019 - 1 day ago
Darussafaka Dogus announced the signing of a new two-season contract with Scottie Wilbekin(188-G-93, college: Florida), so the player will stay in the Turkish team until the end of the 2018-19 season. Joining the team last season, Wilbekin became one of the team's key players in a short time. He has played 42 Euroleague games in two seasons, with an average of 10.3 points per game. American T.J. Campbell (175-PG-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Socar Petkim and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com TBL Player of the Week award for round 30. The 28-year old playmaker had the game-high 27 points adding seven rebounds and four assists for Socar Petkim in his team's victory, helping them to beat Bandirma Kir. (#10, 13-17) 81-70.
