American guard Antabia Waller (188-G-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for Vestel, receiving a Eurobasket.com TB2L Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, four rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Istanbulspor (#15, 3-8) with 25-point margin 86-61. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Vestel moved-up to the 9th position in the Turkish TB2L. Vestel is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-5 record. Waller turned to be Vestel's top player in his first season with the team. Former Auburn University star has very solid stats this year. Waller is in league's top in points (5th best: 18.2ppg) and averages impressive 44.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 23-year old American Michael Porrini (187-G-89) of Gelisim. Porrini had a very good evening with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Gelisim lost that game 63-72 to the higher-ranked Balikesir (#7, 6-5). This loss caused Gelisim to drop to 11th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Porrini is a newcomer at Gelisim, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Arthur Johnson (206-F/C-81) of Istanbul B.B. (#12). Johnson scored 18 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Istanbul B.B., leading his team to a 93-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Pi Koleji (#16, 3-8). The chances of Istanbul B.B. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Johnson could help Istanbul B.B. to bring them higher in the standings. Johnson has a great season in Turkey. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.5bpg and FGP: 58.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jeremy Granger (185-PG-90) of Selcuk Univ. - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
5. KZell Wesson (201-F-77) of Baskent Genclik - 14 points and 18 rebounds
6. Bill Clark (195-SF-88) of Selcuk Univ. - 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Hakan Yapar (202-C-84) of Maliye Milli - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Robert Lowery (188-PG-87) of Balikesir - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Marcus Hall (185-G-85) of Darussafaka - 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Zach Graham (198-G-89) of Maliye Milli - 23 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Can Korkmaz
Korkmaz is back at Galatasaray - 11 hours ago

Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (BSL) signed 24-year old point guard Can Korkmaz (187-92, agency: BeoBasket). It is actually his comeback to Istanbul as he has played here before. Korkmaz played last season at Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbol (BSL). In 31 games he had 4.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.5apg. The previous (14-15) season Korkmaz played at Trabzonspor. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions land Courtney Fortson, ex Banvit BK - 1 day ago

Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (CBA) tabbed 28-year old American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-84kg-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports). Can Ozcan
Samsun adds Ozcan to their roster - 2 days ago

TBL newcomer Samsunspor DSI added to their roster 27-year old forward Can Ozcan (202-89). The last season Ozcan played also at Yesilgiresun Bld (also in BSL) where in 24 games he recorded just 2.3ppg. TBL will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Ozcan won Turkish TB2L championship title in 2015. He represented Turkey at the World University Games in Shenzhen (China) five years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 9.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.3apg, 1.0bpg, FGP: 40.9%,...   [read more]
