Sasha Vujacic gets MVP of the Week award for Turkish TBL - Dec 18, 2012

Slovenian Sasha Vujacic (201-SG-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for Anadolu Efes and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old shooting guard had the game-high 33 points adding three rebounds and four assists for Anadolu Efes in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Mersin (#12, 3-7) with 33-point margin 104-71. Anadolu Efes is placed at 3rd position in Turkish TBL. They are still close to the very top. Anadolu Efes would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. In the team's last game Vujacic had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Anadolu Efes and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Sasha Vujacic averages this season 12.1ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American swingman Sean Marshall (198-G/F-85) of Erdemir. Marshall impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Erdemir cruised to a 103-94 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Turk Telekom (#11, 3-7). This victory allowed Erdemir to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Marshall is a newcomer at Erdemir and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Erdemir's star - Slovenian Jure Balazic (204-F-80). Balazic scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was another key player of Erdemir, helping his team with a 103-94 win against the lower-ranked Turk Telekom (#11, 3-7). The chances of Erdemir ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Balazic could help Erdemir to bring them higher in the standings. Balazic has a very solid season. In 10 games in Turkey he scored 9.3ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jovo Stanojevic (208-C-77) of TED Kolejliler - 26 points and 8 rebounds
5. Jermareo Davidson (208-F-84) of Antalya - 23 points and 4 rebounds
6. Alade Aminu (210-C-87) of Karsiyaka - 19 points and 3 rebounds
7. Jon Diebler (198-G-88) of Karsiyaka - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Torin Francis (210-C-83) of Aliaga - 17 points and 11 rebounds
9. Gerrod Henderson (192-G-78) of Erdemir - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Charles Davis (205-C-84) of Banvit BK - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
