The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Anadolu Efes (#5) and Besiktas (#6). Besiktas was defeated at home 67-74 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Besiktas. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 45-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Serbian Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Semih Erden (211-86) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Patrick Christopher (196-88, college: California, agency: 1x1 Sports) answered with 17 points for Besiktas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anadolu Efes (9-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Besiktas keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with TED Kolejliler. Anadolu Efes is looking forward to face Karsiyaka (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Besiktas will play against Olin Edirne and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a great evening for international Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bojan Bogdanovic helped adding 18 points. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Simone Pianigiani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jamont Gordon (193-87, college: Mississippi St.) responded with 13 points and 4 assists. Fenerbahce Ulker have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against Antalya (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Galatasaray will play against Gaziantep (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between fourth ranked Karsiyaka (9-2) and 10th ranked Aliaga (4-7) in Karsiyaka on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Karsiyaka outscored guests from Aliaga 83-51. It was a quality performance for Bobby Dixon who led the winners and scored 20 points. Marcus Arnold came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds for Aliaga in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Karsiyaka. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Aliaga lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Erdemir and Mersin. Karsiyaka will meet Anadolu Efes (#4) in the next round. Aliaga will play against Tofas (#8) in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11: Mersin beat Olin Edirne on the road 74-62. Gaziantep won against Hacettepe on its own court 78-61. Antalya unfortunately lost to Tofas in Bursa 80-91. TED Kolejliler managed to beat Erdemir at home 87-81. Turk Telekom was defeated by Banvit BK on the opponent's court 72-80.
The most impressive performance of 11th round was 18 points and 21 rebounds by Joey Dorsey of Gaziantep.


Olin Edirne - Mersin 62-74

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Mersin and 12th ranked Olin Edirne had identical 3-7 record. But Olin Edirne was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Akdeniz 74-62 on Thursday night. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 42-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 assists. Naturalized American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) accounted for 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Belarusian center Artsiom Parakhouski (210-87, college: Radford) came up with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international Bekir Yarangume (200-79) added 4 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Olin Edirne in the defeat. Mersin (4-7) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Erdemir and Aliaga. Loser Olin Edirne keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Turk Telekom and Gaziantep. Mersin will meet Erdemir (#9) on the road in the next round. Olin Edirne will play against Besiktas in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Banvit BK (9-2) defeated 11th ranked Turk Telekom (3-8) in Balikesir 80-72 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Banvit BK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Banvit BK outrebounded Turk Telekom 47-24 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (211-87, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Slovenian power forward Miha Zupan (205-82) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Four Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Banvit BK moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Turk Telekom lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. They share it with Gaziantep and Olin Edirne. Banvit BK will meet bottom-ranked Hacettepe (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
