Dorsey's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - Dec 21, 2012

29-year old Joey Dorsey (206-C/F-83, agency: FCM) had an amazing evening in the last round for Gaziantep and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds, while his team crushed Hacettepe (#16, 2-9) with 17-point margin 78-61. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Gaziantep is placed at 13th position in Turkish league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just three victories. Dorsey turned to be Gaziantep's top player in his first season with the team. Joey Dorsey averages this season 14.0ppg and 12.2rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Artsiom Parakhouski (210-C-87) of Olin Edirne. He is Belarusian center in his first season at Olin Edirne. In the last game Parakhouski recorded impressive 25 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Olin Edirne lost that game 62-74 to slightly higher-ranked Mersin (#10, 4-7). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Olin Edirne keeps 12th position. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Olin Edirne managed to get this year. Parakhouski is a newcomer at Olin Edirne and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Sammy Mejia (198-G-83) of Banvit BK (#5). Mejia scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was a key player of Banvit BK, leading his team to a 80-72 win against the lower-ranked Turk Telekom (#14, 3-8). Banvit BK is closer and closer to the top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 9-2 record is not that bad... Mejia has a very solid season. In 11 games in Turkey he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 5.0rpg and FGP: 62.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Nedim Yucel (203-F-79) of TED Kolejliler - 19 points and 11 rebounds
5. David Holston (170-PG-86) of Mersin - 24 points and 10 assists
6. Steven Burtt (185-G-84) of Tofas - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Kirk Penney (196-G-80) of TED Kolejliler - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Jermareo Davidson (208-F-84) of Antalya - 16 points and 10 rebounds
9. J.P. Prince (201-G-87) of Mersin - 10 points and 10 rebounds
10. Dusko Savanovic (204-PF-83) of Anadolu Efes - 17 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

BSL Round 27 of Regular Season - 15 hours ago
The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. The game in Gaziantep was quite interesting. Third ranked Besiktas (22-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Gaziantep (13-14). Besiktas managed to secure a 8-point victory 67-59 on Sunday. Besiktas outrebounded Gaziantep 51-33 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-Tunisian Michael Ro...   [read more]

Monroe's double-double lands him TBL Player of the Week award - 17 hours ago
30-year old Darryl Monroe (201-C/F-86) had a great game in the last round for Turk Telekom and receives a Eurobasket.com TBL Player of the Week award for round 34. He had a double-double of 33 points and 18 rebounds, while his team outclassed Mugla Orman (#18, 4-30) with 35-point margin 120-85. Turk Telekom maintains the 8th position in Turkish TBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Turk Telekom will need more victories to improve their...   [read more]
