Fifteenth-ranked Antalya (2-10) gave a tough game to first ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (11-1) on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Antalya won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fenerbahce Ulker won last quarter 22-20. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian-Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and international Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who added 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Simone Pianigiani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Hacettepe - Banvit BK 70-91

No shocking result in a game in Ankara where fifth ranked Banvit BK (10-2) outleveled bottom-ranked Hacettepe (2-10) 91-70. Banvit BK made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Banvit BK outrebounded Hacettepe 47-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Dominican-American guard Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) who scored that evening 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (211-87, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Four Banvit BK players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 7 assists by American guard Cameron Bennerman (193-84, college: N.Carolina St.) did not help to save the game for Hacettepe. His fellow American import forward Michael Glover (200-87, college: Iona) added 16 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banvit BK have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray. Hacettepe lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Antalya. Banvit BK will play against league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hacettepe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara Turk Telekom.
