TKBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 13 rounds left.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Istanbul. Second ranked Galatasaray faced 3rd placed Tarsus Bld. Host Galatasaray (11-2) smashed guests from Mersin (9-4) 79-57. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Tarsus Bld. The game without a history. Galatasaray led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tarsus Bld's 36. Vincentian-Spanish center Sancho Lyttle (192-83, college: Houston) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Galatasaray's coach Ekrem Memnun felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American forward Melisa Can (188-84, college: Rutgers) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Galatasaray maintains second place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Tarsus Bld at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Galatasaray are looking forward to face Ceyhan Bld (#6) in Adana in the next round. Tarsus Bld will play at home against Besiktas in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Undefeated leader Fenerbahce delivered the thirteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Botas (7-6) 87-57 in Istanbul. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Ivana Matovic (197-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Agnieszka Bibrzycka contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) answered with 8 points and 14 rebounds for Botas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Fenerbahce (13-0) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 13 victories in a row. Botas lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Ceyhan Bld and Antakya. Fenerbahce will play against Canik Bld (#9) in Samsun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play on the road against TED Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Besiktas (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-73 loss to eleventh ranked TED Ankara (4-9) in Ankara on Saturday evening. Marcedes Marie Walker stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Ozge Kavurmacioglu responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds. TED Ankara maintains eleventh place with 4-9 record. Besiktas lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with 13 games lost. TED Ankara will meet at home higher ranked Botas (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play against Tarsus Bld (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Other games of round 13 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Canik Bld was crushed by Antakya in Hatay 81-56. Samsun was beaten by Kayseri at home 68-82. Mersin won against Istanbul Univ. on the opponent's court 74-61. Ceyhan Bld managed to outperform Edremit in a home game 89-71.
The best stats of 13th round was 20 points and 9 rebounds by Zoi Dimitrakou of Kayseri.


Antakya - Canik Bld 81-56

Everything could happen in Hatay at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Antakya and 9th ranked Canik Bld had identical 6-6 record. This time Antakya used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Samsun 81-56 on Sunday night. Montenegrin center Ana Turcinovic (190-93) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. At the losing side American center Janel McCarville (188-82, college: Minnesota) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import power forward Cheryl Ford (191-81, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 8 points and 17 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Antakya. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ceyhan Bld and Botas. Newly promoted Canik Bld keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Istanbul Univ.. Antakya will meet higher ranked Mersin (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Canik Bld will play against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kayseri (10-3) defeated on the road 12th ranked Samsun (2-11) 82-68 on Saturday. Kayseri dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Samsun's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Very expected game when 9th ranked Istanbul Universitesi (6-7) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Mersin (8-5) 74-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mersin. Istanbul Universitesi managed to win second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Istanbul Universitesi 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Shavonte Zellous (178-86, college: Pittsburgh) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Erlana Larkins (185-86, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 10 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Hoops Club (Division I) added to their roster 27-year old American center ShaQuanda Wiggins (191-90, college: Kentucky State). She started the season at Istanbulgucu in Turkish TKBL.
