Barcelona Regal survive Turkish challenge in Round 4 of Top 16 in EuroLeague. The Spanish team overcame Besiktas JK Istanbul 73:59 for 3-1 record in Group E. The hosts remained winless and dropped at 0-4 record.
Besiktas JK Istanbul had nothing to lose in the game and showed a great first half in the court. Although they lost the first period 10-15 they managed to reply with 22-19 in the second frame. Barcelona Regal managed to grab 3-point lead entering the last stanza and proved their ambitions only in it. They erupted with 22-11 burst for the final 14-point win.
Ante Tomic (217-C-87) led the way with 15 points, whilst Erazem Lorbek (209-F/C-84, college: Michigan St.) notched 11. Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-PG-76, college: Maryland) and Pete Mickeal (199-F-78, college: Cincinnati) followed them winners with 9 points each. Curtis Jerrells (185-G-87, college: Baylor) top-scored for the hosts with 17 points and Gasper Vidmar (211-C/F-87) netted 14. Damir Markota (209-F-85) delivered 13, while Daniel Ewing (191-G-83, agency: Alti Sport, college: Duke) had 9.
